This Transfer Portal **** is blowing up!

You play the hand you're dealt. Manny was left with a barren cupboard from Richt, so he's making the best of it by using the transfer portal. Do I expect him to do this every year? No. But can we all just pause for a moment and recognize the outstanding job Manny is doing so far to repair this team? I'm not sure there's a single move I'd ask he make differently.

It's like an online Last Chance :neonu:
BRO!!!!!! I am telling you. Manny is going to get us on el Amazon Prime. “Un Season con Los MIAMI HURRIACNES” and it’s going to be DOPE!!!!

We will have my boy Pitbull stopping in, tío Luke gonna come back (maybe) and we gonna get a tons of recruits!

All true and another thing I heard is one guy that would've really looked at the portal is Tyson Campbell. My boy who told me about Kirby ****ing everybody off (you see how mad people are leaving) said Campbell LOVED Tucker and through a trying season Tucker was his guy but now without him Campbell isn't necessarily excited
No need for him. Traitor. Once gone, never coming back should be our new motto!

Do transfers still have to sit out a year, or did they change that?

Still have to sit unless they've graduated. No change to that.

Given today's mindset where kids stay around during the summer and take summer courses so they can train on campus, the number of 3rd year players who are graduating is significantly higher than in decades past.

I said it when the new rules were first announced. The NCAA has created a free agency market for college athletics. The Transfer portal is the future of college recruiting. My guess is that 40-50% of a given class will be transfers within about 5 years.

Can imagine to try and regulate this in the future they will have a portal deadline weekend and if you don’t enter it by that deadline you have to wait for the next year. This is pretty reckless for all schools in all but could eliminate some depth disparities in college football right now. Can imagine schools like bama and uga will be affected a lot

It gives players more control over their careers...it's a good thing in a sport where Millionaires/Billionaires reap all the rewards on the backs of these college athletes. I'm all for it.

U not kicking everyones *** by just getting transfers, prefer balanced classes and hitting targets. Hope this is just for this year
It certainly isn't the preferred method to building a team but this portal can be a fantastic supplement and stopgap measure. I agree with you but it's not like Diaz is going to blow off standard recruiting practices to focus on the portal. However it can and will be used as a tool to address a hole here and there or extra depth at a position or two.

The thing about it is while it has created a Wild West feel people can’t forget 95% of these players have to sit out a year so there is no immediate help in the portal.

It can work both ways as well.
But especially if your a borderline player now you have to worry about an incoming freshman as well as possible transfer.
Everyone has to be on their mfing game. No days off type of sht. If we start winning and mfers start catching the vapors you better be on the nutrition program, the SC program, and studying some cot dam film. No weak links anymore.
Agreed. Manny is creating the old Miami atmosphere of kill or be killed. Guys better wake up and smell the coffee
