We have three big announcements to make:

1. AD hired

2. Manny fired

3. New coach hired

We can’t announce all three at once because that would be absurd. These announcements are going to have to be staggered.

So which is the first domino to fall and when?

If we’re waiting on a certain PAC 12 coach, does the prospective AD already know that a football hire has essentially been made?

Are AD/HC a package deal?

Would we announce those at the same time?

Would we hire a new AD and have him be the one to axe Manny? That seems a bit odd considering he wouldn’t have had time to really evaluate him.

I think Manny has to go first, but when?

Seems like either tomorrow after all the pre-game press for the P12CG is done, or we hold off until Monday.

I can’t stand Manny, but **** that’s a long time to have him and his coaches twisting in the wind. Staff jobs are going to be filling up quickly.

Regardless, dominos need to start falling, and soon.

Just because the public doesn't know everything going on doesn't mean those behind the scenes don't have the information they need.

Any true AD candidate has likely already made their decision on Manny or has been told Manny is gone and you get to pick your coach. That would be a major selling point for most ADs.

If the candidates are actually being told you're gonna hire Mario and that's that then it may turn some off. Or it may be another selling point to some as Mario is a respected coach.

I imagine an AD being told you will get hired and made to look like you just fired the current HC winning over a ton of goodwill with the fanbase, AND you also get a respected coach brought in for you to look even better that it may actually make some ADs more interested in the job. And then you tell them they have free reign with the basketball and baseball programs and you'll have plenty of ADs salivating at the idea of such a clean slate to work with plus the immediate goodwill they'll be gifted by the appearance of them looking like they fired Diaz and then were able to steal away such a coveted head coach from another P5 program in such short time.

With LSU/UF/VT/USC/OU having to fill coaching jobs, we HAVE to move fast unless (someone like) Mario is already filling his staff. Good position coaches are going to get snatched up quickly and it's not like we'd be competing with an Ole Miss or Pitt opening - we're competing with the big boys for the same pool of coaches.

I'm less worried about AD.

But, the timing of it all is critical. Has there ever been a school to fire and hire a football coach WITHOUT an AD? My guess is that an AD will be hired by Friday. Back channeling continues and an unofficial agreement with Mario is in place by the Pac12CG, Manny is fired over the weekend and Mario officially hired on Monday. I dunno but it seems like that would make the most sense.

If the new AD is hiring the next coach, then that’s an entirely new process.

If I'm right T-Rob and Shoop came aboard after our Bowl was played last year so as far them being stagnant at the moment with the uncertainty of Manny , I think they'll be fine if moves are made and they have to catch on somewhere else...

My best guess is whoever ends up AD knows they get to be made to look like they let Diaz go. They also will know Mario has a deal already.

To some ADs they'll be turned off by this situation. Others will be okay with it and see it as an opportunity. You come into a new school and the public is told you fired the current coach and then pulled in another coach quickly from another school.

We on this board will know for the most part how it played out. To the rest of the nation the new AD is going to look like they're getting business done quickly because within days they will have fired a coach and hired a **** of a replacement.

Been thinking about this quite a bit. I think to best speculate, we need to assume that Mario is our top option. Mario obviously cares about maintaining his integrity and any nonsense would stop him from coming here. I don't think he wants us causing him to answer any uncomfortable questions which may tend to damage his credibility and integrity.

Accordingly, I would assume the following sequence: AD announced; Manny Fired; HC announced.

I think Miami's hiring of an AD would surely invite questions--especially if Geno or Alonzo are involved in some degree.

As for timing, I'm guessing the whole thing starts any time after Friday. I think we can fire Manny any time after that (the AD is being hired with the assumption that we are going for a change in culture--makes it easy to fire Manny asap). Regarding Mario, we probably need a new more days after Manny is fired.

Between the first and last domino, I think the sequence is completed by Thursday of next week.

This is what I’ve been saying too. It’s ridiculous.

No leadership, no clear vision…no clear communication strategy.

The leadership at Miami has no idea what they’re doing. Sorry, but that’s just the truth
