This thing is scary

Yes, they'll be fine if they evacuated.

The News and the Governor are making it seem like this storm is what the **** Mayans predicted in 2012. We are not Louisiana, we are not Haiti, we arent the bahamas, we arent Jamaica. This storm will cause flooding and may **** up some houses but the ONLY WAY PEOPLE DIE IS IF THEY ARE BEING DUMB F*CKS! so just relax, board up your house if needed and ride it out

The people who live on merrit island/cocoa beach/kennedy space center are going to get decimated. They're only 4 ft above sea level. That whole island could be under 5ft+ of storm surge water, not flooding...storm surge. It will uproot homes if that happens. . Were not talking about a small island with a subdivision. There's 35k people who live there. I fish there every weekend and my family lives 20 minutes from there.

I grew up on Merritt Island and the folks in that neck of the woods are going to be fine.

Go Canes!!

Anyone that takes this as a joke has never been through one. Be safe fam.

I've been through 20 of these, and I've been ridiculing the fear mongering since it started.

Right off the bat, they were squealing about the 389 mph winds. Yet, every time they put up a graphic with the wind readings near the storm they'd be 25 mph or less.

Local weather dude John Morales was actually honest about the **** a couple hours ago, and Jackie Nespral almost lynched him. The minute he broke some honest news that it's going to miss South Florida and only produce some minimal gusts and rain, they cut immediately to the Haitians floating down the river of mud to get that fear level back up.

You're an absolute idiot. Obviously you didn't live through Andrew or you wouldn't be downplaying 140-150 mi/hr winds.

You stupid fcking piece of uneducated trash. I was right smack dab in the heart of Hurricane Andrew in South Kendall as it ripped through. I comforted two crying chicks and 1 shivering petrified dude like you as the sickening howl of the winds ripped the roof off our place. So don't tell me what the fck I've been through, you sniveling speck of dried ***.
Lol... We know your definition of comforted.

and guess what.. all those people are most likely in the "evacuation zone" if they dont evacuate and get hurt then they fall under the dumb f*uck category. sorry!

I agree everyone should leave, i'm talking about the magnitude of potential damage. The economic impact of losing an entire island, the biggest florida cruise terminal and damage to NASA is something that will effect every Floridian.

Seriously. My old family home in Cocoa Beach is likely to be part of a reef, if it survived at all. We were on a canal; water was all around us. When the weather cooled off, I'd go to sleep with AC off and windows open, listening to the ocean's waves move in and out. I guess we were a mile or so from the ocean.

I live in Maryland now with my remaining family. Still know some people in Brevard...can't imagine what might happen. I'm wondering if the damage and loss can be permanent. Patrick AFB (is it still open?) Is hundreds of feet from the ocean. Kennedy Space Center could be destroyed. Thousands and thousands could be homeless--just hope they have been able to survive. There are not that many superhighways going east to west to get out of the storm's path. The more I think about it, this could be a disaster of immense proportions.

To bring this back to football: we've had a ton of kids pass through the program over the past 35 years from Brevard communities. Some might be back in that area. Kids from Merritt Island High, Melbourne, Titusville, Satellite Beach, Eau Gallie, and others. When I get to my computer maybe I'll add in some names. Brevard really has contributed in a big way to the Canes family.

Ramon Buchanon went to Palm Bay. He was a top LB but had a ton of injuries at UM. Willie Haulstead from Titusville went to FSU but was a headcase. Cocoa puts out 2-3 kids every year into D1.

If I'm off ok, but at a first quick glance, does this weather map look similar to the rainbow flag?

You're right. That's why this is Franchise's Storm.

Man everyone seems to be going after him as of late. Did I miss something or did he just call someone or someones a kvnt or a cümrag one too many times and now the downtrodden are rising up???
I've got a long list of wounded warriors that I've accumulated over the last 20 years on these boards.

It's not even raining in Miami Beach - sometimes you have to wonder if some companies are in bed with the media.

You shouldn't have to wonder as they are . The way of the world . I live IN Jax and we will get hit but by the news here you would think the apocalypse was upon us or something . The fear mongering gets old fast.

They're all coming out of the shadows. I think I'd call the ones who have been simmering quietly and lying in wait- Shadow Warriors.

Seems like you are either extremely dense, an incredibly large *******, full of ****, or all of the above. Guess hugging on your abuela taught you nothing about respect for natural disasters and for other people's loss.

WE DO NOT ALLOW DIRECT NAME CALLING ON THIS BOARD.

Franchise spewing ignorance and minimizing threats of bonafide, killer hurricanes. Dude's gotta be called out.

I have respect for people's losses. I sent your mom a condolence card when she popped you out.

Its not too difficult a task if you keep calling everyone a cvnt.

There's another one. Still harboring emotions over a message board argument from two years ago like a jilted chick.

No clue what argument you're talking about buddy. Maybe you're harboring something? We have argued?

Nice try, Wounded Warrior. You already outed yourself as a grudge-holding chick. Now, you're trying to look slick.

As chick of the week, I nominate the guy who personally blamed me for Hurricane Matthew "destroying" north Florida because I wanted the game to be played.
