This Team is Resilient

Miami controlled this game for the most part and IMO were never truly in danger of losing, despite WF getting momentum and having back to back scoring drives in the 2nd half. It was a Friday night conference road game, which is already weird energy (Friday night games are typically where ranked teams go to die). We lost key contributors to injuries (folks underestimate how much that can suck the energy from a team), and our QB/star WR were banged up. It wasn't the prettiest win (especially the second half), but good teams find ways to win even when things start to turn. I'm not making any excuses for that really bad 2nd half offense. However, when you have multiple players get hurt during the course of a game (the Marty Brown injury really sucked and kinda deflated the offense's energy), it forces coaches to adjust game plans. Despite all that happened, they still came out with a double digit win against a solid WF team (yeah they struggled with Purdue, but that's football, every win wont be a dominant blowout). With a healthy team we put up 50. That second half was ugly offensively, but I am hopeful that will be the worst half of football the team will play this season. Dawson definitely needs to go back to the drawing board because that output ain't gonna cut it throughout the rest of the schedule. Mario has these boys locked in because if this was year 1 or 2 of the Mario tenure, we likely lose this game. There is still plenty of work to be done, but I am proud of these boys for fighting through injuries, a shortened practice week, and Wake giving Miami everything they had. Remember this is a new QB still learning the system and getting fully settled in, an o-line with new starters still gelling and getting settled in, as well as new starters on the d-line. We bent, but didn't break. I don't give two sh*ts of a split d**k f**k about covering the spread. Get out of there with a win, get home, get healthy, and prepare for CMU next week.

GO CANES!!

PS: The gameday board can get really toxic really quick the moment things don't go perfectly according to plan. There were people on there calling for Heatherman to be let go after Wake's scoring drive in the 1st Q.
I do ageee but Dawson had a habit of being retarded

Yep. The way people were dog piling on them, you'd think this same staff didn't just get us to the NC game 8 months ago and weren't 40 yards away from winning it all. Figured that would have earned Mario and staff the benefit of the doubt, but I forgot this is cfb and fans are over reactionary and myopic
Agreed, hopefully that’s a rhetorical question, based on last years adjustments after SMU. Question GSU, are you a Ga state grad? I am also ,got my Masters there, undergrad UM of course. If not, thanks🙌🏽

Believe Wake Forest has a DC as well, so maybe give him credit for adjustments. Impressed with Wake being feisty & playing hard. Nothing wrong with a good test on the road.
Agree with the test part but this exactly what Dawson in our two L last year . Called plays like a coward . Run , screen run isn’t hard defend

Curious to hear his thought process. Dictated by injuries & protecting players, Wake adjustments or brain farts? Curious knowing why Barkate is in witness protection.
