Recently heard Dave Hyde and another reporter talk about Golden, that he should go.
First time that WQAM Miami (who carries the Canes games with Joe Szakie) make such
a damning statement ever before.
 
I am told Golden's buyout is significantly less at the end of this year (Feb 1 2016) which is the end of his original contract. Where the administration might be caught up is having to wait till Feb 1 to fire him which would obviously be disastrous for this recruiting class.

Waiting until then can't be an option. It just can't. All the most coveted head-coaching candidates on the market will be long gone and it would absolutely destroy the recruiting class. Even an administration as cheap, apathetic, and incompetent as ours can't think that's even remotely feasible.
 
I hate articles that try to make the school sound broke. When the ACC spilt a nice size pot every season with bowl games and TV contracts. Our football budget is higher than 75% of D1 schools.

I'm sure the BOT know they will loose more money keeping golden than getting rid of him.

LOL at the yearly clown show with a procession of fake insiders claiming knowledge of buyout amounts.

Last year, we heard from the fakes that the buyout dropped precipitously after the 2014 season. Now, the fakes are claiming it drops in February of 2016.

Next, we'll hear that it rises sharply two days before the contract ends unless Fake James' wife successfully bowls a 300 game by flinging Fake down the lane.
 
anyone know the numbers? No way it’s 8 figures unless our last AD decided to give golden free undeserved money for truly no reason right?

LMFAO at thinking the buyout is 8 figures.

His remaining contract value is likely 8 figures, but that's not how buyouts work.

Most HC contracts are for the regular season and not based on calendar year. Most have built in bowl and championship bonuses for both HC and assistant coaches. So if we were to fire anyone right now, we would have to pay for the season and the buyout for the HC for the remaining no of seasons in the contract. Assistants coaches are year to year.

Al has 4 seasons left on his contract not counting this season.

The midget f&%ked us by giving him this outrageous contract extn...

Either way AL will leave a rich man... thanks to the midget and the pansy ADs we have had.
