This offense will be electric

Let’s keep it real. I love Beck, and I’m grateful for everything he did to help bring back The U, but he always felt like one of those early-2010s Bama QBs, before they started rolling out real gunslingers. Manage the game, run the ball, and don’t **** it up.

If Beck had been on Duke last year, does anyone honestly think he would’ve put up numbers anywhere close to what Mensah did? The answer is without a doubt no. He has a skill set that is effective on a loaded team, but he doesn't command the offense.

This offense is going to be ELITE with Mensah. The best RB room in America. The most exciting receiver in the country. And other pass catchers with legitimate talent.

And don’t kid yourself about the O-line. Mirabal and Cristobal would cut their legs off before they ever walked out a bad offensive line. At worst it will be solid.

The run game might even be better than last year because teams won’t be able to stack the box and press our receivers in man coverage all game.

My only concern about this upcoming season is being surprised in the playoffs because we're so used to stomping inferior opponents. We are going to massacre the ACC.

Love Beck. I think Mensah fits Dawson's offense better than Beck did.

Btw, watching Cam's highlights at Wash St and Mensah at Duke, I see so many similarities. Plenty of differences. But still.

Cam 2023: 485 attempts, 3736 yards, 66.6%, 25 TDs, 7 INTs, 7.7 YPA
Mensah 2025: 500 attempts, 3973 yards, 66.8%, 34 TDs, 6 INTs, 7.9 YPA

While we will take a step back defensively, at least statistically speaking, we will create more chaos because we will be playing with bigger leads. I expect more sacks, and more forced turnovers than we saw in 2025. I also expect us to give up more yards and points, because we will be scoring faster, and probably a lot more.

Top 10 scoring O and top 12 scoring D is my expectation with this schedule, along with a 1st round bye. Idc, get it done.

I think we misused Beck, full on negligence in some aspects. He would have been 10x better with a quality TE and more talented X. Our running game sucked at times which put too much pressure on him to make plays. And our receivers were often blanketed other than Toney. Very unimaginative at time, rarely playing to his strengths.

That said, I think Mensah will get better WR talent and have a better connection with Bauman (assuming he gets that waiver approval), and generally can QB the offense Dawson likes to run better. He's not only super talented, he's a system fit. So I think he absolutely crushes the numbers we saw in 2025. We'll be back to the Ward-level 40+ PPG, 300+ Passing per game. With a real defense. College football beware!

We got a weak schedule too nothing like this last year. Wr and Rb room is stacked jfc! Glad we picked up Hussey for depth at Safety this next year should be a big one! Just hope the lack or comp doesnt throw us off for playoffs. I wanted Mensah last year Duke jumped on him early. Was looking at roster and man we are stacked its crazy the turn around love me some Cristobal!

Gotta beat ND which will not be easy. And we need to run the table in the ACC, something we've never done. Can Mario bury another myth?
