We beat them in 2011 and in 2025:
Ohio State’s win over Miami in 2010 was vacated as part of the sanctions from the TattooGate NCAA violations involving players receiving improper benefits and the head coach failing to report the violations. As a result, Ohio State officially vacated all 12 wins from the 2010 season, including that victory over Miami, and their record for that season is recorded as 0-1 with only the loss to Wisconsin remaining.

When you make the sample size "When was the last time Ohio State beat Miami without the aid of a bogus PI call that wrongly reversed history" the answer is 1977 - 49 years is the last time Ohio State beat Miami fair and square. Half a century.

We still lost in 2010. I would not accept removing a loss of my record book because my opponent hand an outside scandal. I didn’t beat you on the field so I don’t deserve to have a loss removed. The only way I would except removing a loss would be if my opponent was guilty of cheating that directly gave them an advantage in the game.

This isn’t a criticism of your OP. Just how I feel about vacated wins.

However, in my mind, there will always be an asterisk (*) next to Ohio State’s Fiesta Bowl victory.

Also, as much as I hate Ohio State, that “tattoo scandal” was ridiculous bull****.

As somewhat agree. I didn’t have a problem with the players getting free or discounted tattoos in trade. The key problem was Jim Tressel knew about the violations and lied or misled the NCAA. He would not have been fired, and the players only served suspensions hand they handled the situation properly.

Ohio State would have never hired Urban Meyer.

Funny how one incident has such a domino effect. Cam Newton was Tim Tebow’s backup for one year. Got in trouble for a stolen laptop or something and had to drop to a juco before his comeback at Auburn.

I always thought Meyer dropped out from Florida when it got more difficult post-Tebow. He might not have developed his medical issues had Cam Newton simply walked in to take Tebow’s place.

Not just for the bad PI call, but Clarett should have been ruled ineligible by the NCAA just as they did to USC and Reggie Bush, and that win vacated as well, which was cheating that gave them an advantage in the game.

Right, but the difference is that I do agree with tax evasion being a crime. I do not agree with the free tattoos being a crime.

Yeah, thats being petty. I still count that 2010 game as a loss. I don’t want to say they dominated us that game, but they pretty much controlled the game. Our special teams kept it close for a while. There wasn’t any blatant cheating or anything like that. We lost to a better team.

Now, the 2003 championship game, that should have an (*) as other posters have said. For Clarett’s ineligibility status and for the worst call of all time.

I’d also add those dirty Buckeyes taking out McGahee and attempting to take out more (they kind of did take out Dorsey in OT because they messed up his throwing arm), but that’s just me. I don’t understand why the NCAA/refs pretend to be so concerned about targeting but don’t come down harder for the other deliberate ones. Actually, I do know why. Never mind.

Noticed a taint player diving right at Fletchers knee the other night, it was about 4 minutes before halftime right around midfield. Atleast it looked that way to me.

They were definitely playing dirty at times. We will never know if Allen’s tackle on McGahee was intentionally to cause injury.

Defensive backs will often target the lower body when attempting to tackle running backs. Easier way for them to make the tackle rather than trying to meet them at pad level. Personally, I don’t think he was trying to injure McGahee on that tackle. It didn’t help he was unconcerned right after and did the throat slash. Perhaps he was hoping for some type of injury, but nobody could have predicted that outcome
