This Loss Is On Mark Richt

Yeah it's quite bizarre.

Again, bring something of substance

Not sure why you're so angry. All you've done in this thread is throw a tantrum and continuously insult other posters. Who hacked your account?

I'm not angry, I'm annoyed at posters like you who are blind to reality. I'd like you to show me where I'm acting any different than I ever have. Because I'm not being irrational like you? Because I don't want to fly a banner 8 games into a coach's tenure? Because I don't want to pack up Richt's office now? Because I have criticized Richt? A lot? Because I have said these losses are on Richt too. Just not all on Richt? Please tell me.

You're really worked up. I suggest you simmer down before you have a stroke. It's nice to see that you've appointed yourself the arbiter of irrational v. Rational in true bomb-esque fashion.

I call it as I see it.

In many ways I'm more encouraged than I have been all season. For a chunk of that game the offensive style actually resembled what I expected when Richt was hired. We actually got in power formations and ran the ball with authority. We had a few wrinkles out of those formations. I have to believe it will be the foundation for the remainder of the season. If we sit in the shotgun with RPO crap we'll be bullied and embarrassed. The power formations allow weak or mediocre players to outperform their true level, and it instills a more confident and aggressive attitude throughout the entire team.

I'm not saying I appreciated the back to back I formation runs that were smothered before the punt when it was 20-20. After we established the I formation there should have been far greater variety, including more play action. I was secretly hoping for that fake toss/spin slant to the tight end that I described last week. We were seemingly setting that up with pitches that we hadn't shown all year. The variety we did display generally succeeded.

I think we were so shell shocked after the prior 3 weeks, and then the first quarter avalanche of this game, that we switched to power sets for self preservation, and once it worked we weren't fully prepared for what to do next.

Our defensive personnel is weak by Miami standards. That's what stood out today. Our defensive tackles were pushed around when it mattered. Jenkins was abused on the 42 yard touchdown run. Wiped out to the inside by Bivin. Norton has more belly than ability.

I wasn't feeling too bad once I projected superior defensive tackles into those spots, along with maturity from the freshmen linebackers, and increasing reliance on power sets on offense. I have to believe Richt will understand the necessity for that.

There was a consolation prize in my wager of Notre Dame +2.5. That was another example of the proper use of preseason ratings. A highly ranked team from preseason was home underdog to a team ranked nowhere in preseason. That's the way to do it. Notre Dame was rated in the #10 range. I always get a kick out of fans who mock those ratings as September unfolds. I know darn well I'll take advantage as the season progresses.

There was a flood of Irish money in the final half hour. Notre Dame crossed back to 1 point favorite entering Saturday and then it pushed up to -2.5 and even some scattered -3 offerings at game time.

I wonder if you watch the games or just like to bloviate. We ran the ball "with authority out of power formations"? When?

I bet the stats would tell us that our runs up the gut were incredibly ineffective. Walton continues to run the wrong way and run up everyone's back, and Rix continues calling his number.

I know you all are use to a decade of having HCs so incompetent that we had every right to constantly criticize and dissect everything that they did wrong. We can atleast relax for a couple years with Coach Richt whn it comes to *****ing about the HC every week.

The offense was noticeably "better" from a play calling stand point the reason it sucked is bc Brad Kaaya is still garbage and that is the one constant that wont ever change no matter who the HC or OC is Kaaya would still be garbage. If he was being coached under Nick Saban, Kaaya would cry and transfer.

Coach Richt is coaching some talent with a lot of missing pieces and a lot of depth issues, but the biggest piece thats lacking is at the QB position, and that's why we're losing and going to continue to lose this year. Once Brad Kaaya's career is over, and our team continues to add talent and develop, we will be back to not being an embarrassment.

So just let it go, ride this season out, you all love Brad Kaaya so deal with it.

1985 used to be a rational guy. He sounds like a mixture of bomb, Jagr, and Baghdad Bob in this thread. Ooph.

How so? Because I'm not donating money for a banner?
Because you're trying too hard to make excuses for obvious failure. You're resorting to retarded stuff that boot lickers like bomb and Jagr parrot, such as "Richt isn't coaching them to drop the ball. Richt isn't coaching them to give up sacks." No coach ever specifically coaches players to do the wrong thing. You know that, but you're using that clown rhetoric anyway. Folden didn't coach the defense to miss tackles.

Rix was hired with the idea that he was an offensive guru. He can't move the ball or score even against really poor defenses. That's a fail even though he's not specifically coaching guys to drop passes or throw interceptions. He needs to coach them to gain yards and score points. And he's failing badly. Have you watched ND this year? They have been awful defensively. We made another bad defense look like the 85 Bears.

I've never mentioned a banner and wouldn't think of mentioning one. It would be a waste of time and money because Rix will be here likely as long as he wants to be, and, without question, longer than a year or two.

Hey zone3cuck: stop posting.

Richt needs to spread the **** field and let kaaya have easy reads where he can get the ball out quickly.

We can't run, we need to pass to set up the run.

Shut up OP, richt called a good game and adjusted, kaaya and the Ol are just terrible terrible.

ALL wins and losses are on the HC much like the performance of a company falls on the CEO....

Yes, the play calling improved after the 1st quarter. But because of the ineptitude in the 1st quarter, we got into a 17-0 hole and ND is terrible. If we're playing a team with a pulse it's 25-0.

And while it got better afterwards, those back to back run up the middle calls late in the 4th were infuriating. He still needs to hire an OC. Period.

100 yards of offense in 1st half
200 yards of offense in 2nd half

Against a **** defense. His 3rd quarter play calling was really good. The adjustments were perfect and putting ND on their heels. And then he got conservative again late in the 4th and it was back to runs for a loss and sacks.

The only reason his 3rd quarter play calling was better was because we were down and it was out of desperation...the same script we saw in the other losses. What happened as soon as we fought our asses off and tied the game? Homeboy reverted to type.

I'm thoroughly convinced someone has hacked 1985's account. He's always been a good poster but he's gone off the rails with the Richt excuses and defense.

That's just it, I'm not blindly defending Richt. I've ripped him plenty. I've said he deserves blame. I'm just trying to be rational and I'm trying to look at the whole picture. I'm trying to give Richt a chance, more than 8 games, to let him get better players in here, and players he actually wants. If it doesn't work then, then I'll fly the ******* plane. We've all been ****ed in the head because of Golden and his talk of "his system" that when any coach or any poster says it, it's automatically a non-starter, even though at times it's a valid point. Look, I'm not happy, I'm as upset as everyone else. Maybe more so because I was very happy about the Richt hire last year. I'm just not ready to call for his head or say he sucks right now. I'd like to see him coach with a better OL and a better QB, and some players who weren't coached by Golden for 2-3-4 years.

I'm being rational as well...I know what I'm seeing on the field. I guess all i can say is I disagree with you to the highest degree a human being can disagree with another. You're entitled to your opinion but I really did think you were hacked.

I'm not throwing out excuses though. I'm blaming Richt too. I'm just not ready to give up on him, and I'm blaming just Richt. But, whatever you want to do, or believe is fine.

I'm not giving up on him as a head coach....but he needs to give up play calling duties as soon as this season is over. If it's a package deal he can GTFO and it'll be time to start fueling planes. I don't want my Canes looking like a Dave Wannstadt coached team.

Did Richt throw a pick six? Did Richt not recover the fumble at the goal line twice? Was Richt playing Center and Left Guard? Did Richt get called for a stupid 15 yd unsportsmanlike penalty?

Players make plays, or they don't....Kaaya, Carter, McDermott, Linder, Jenkins just to name a few that did not...

If that's what you're getting from my posts where I also blame Richt, fine.

The reincarnation of Patrick Nix.

We are all witnesses.

Nix had better talent to work with

I agree with your points in general, but this one is a stretch. At one point, Nix had Xavier Shannon on his OL and Khalil Jones at WR. The offensive talent is far from perfect, but to say Coley, Walton, Richards, Njoku, Yearby, et al are worse than what Nix had is a wash, at worst, and likely a stretch.

I am too. The offense in the I was horrid

Hilarious about the preseason rankings too. Wonder if he took advantage of those during the MichSt, Duke, NCST, Stanford losses?

I'd kill to have Xavier Shannon on the OL right now....and I was more or less kidding with my comment

It's Richt's job to put the team in the best position to win. He did not do that with his play calling in the first half.

This was loss #3 that is on him

Fsu
UNC
Nd

Pathetic play calling for long periods in those games. Completely wasted possessions in one score losses
