Arizona was going to the Rose Bowl since UCLA was going to play for the NC that year. UCLA loses, still Pac 10 champ and thus got the automatic bid to the Rose knocking UA out.

God i miss those days. Teams that never quit. We had so many fantastic comebacks, Michigan 88, FSU 87, FSU 2000, UWV 2002? BC 99? We knew we always had a chance to come back. Now..its 3 and out give the other team the ball for 14 play drive and numerous 3rd down conversions.

Its like watching Rutgers football now a days

The U of WV Game was in '03, that was the game that TE Kellen Winslow Jr. made that tremendous one handed catch on 3rd or 4th and long that led to the winning touchdown. That was the last time we would play the Mountain Oysters.

We had a young *** D and Ucla pumped diesel on O. One if thest offenses in history,

We had tix for the original date, that was cancelled by a hurricane. Couldn't make it down for the actual game, and it never was broadcast in Philly. Listened to it on the Internet, with numerous dropouts etc. Still it was glorious. I believe James had nearly 300 yards.

Most people don't realize the game was moved because of the hurricane, we wouldn't have beaten them in September, Butch had them coached up at the end of the year

You're right. Still, we were tremendous underdogs. Thanks Canefreak.

So a coach had his team improved by the end of the year? Interesting approach, we should try it
