You're probably right. Here's the crazy thing. In my work, I have the opportunity to speak with many coaches from all across the country. Even they will tell you that college football is in a better place when The U is relevant. The NCAA needs to figure this **** out. If they get/keep their thumb off of us, they'll actually have a better product ($$$) in the long run.
