Once Manny takes 10 mercenaries, puts together a ridiculous team, and dominates college football with it, you can expect the NCAA to implement a new "Miami Rule." It'll be something like: "Each school is allowed to take only one portal player per calendar year."

If that happens, the NCAA would be placing undue/unfair restrictions on the player's choice of transfer schools.

-- Player finds himself in less than ideal situation at current school.
-- Player identifies an opportunity at a transfer school where he is potentially an ideal fit.
-- Player enters his name in the portal
-- Player is unable to transfer to said school because they've used their portal allotment, thus eliminating said player's opportunity.

I don't think this would fly, but I fully expect the NCAA to come up with some regulatory measure in the near future regarding portal transfers.
For now, let Jefe turn this **** into the Wild Wild West. Let the player decide where he wants to move.

I get what you're saying, but the NCAA will find a way to limit it IF IT PLAYS TOO BIG A ROLE IN RETURNING MIAMI TO THE TOP.

If all these portal players don't really help return the Canes to the mountaintop, then the NCAA will just leave the portal as is.

True. But that's too much like free market capitalism . . . when's the last time a government-like organization like the NCAA didn't think more regulation was better?

Exactly.

They would rather punish all schools and all players if it would mean keeping the Canes from taking this thing and dominating with it.

We are loading up this year because we have to. Scholarship numbers are low and our recruiting class sucks. I wouldnt bet on us taking this many transfers every year.

I don’t think OP was being serious lol

I could see recruits touring our campus first and then waiting for other schools to jump on them. It will eventually look like high school recruiting again after a few years. The bag men are ready, I'm sure.
