Manny said that despite the report, he had not fully made up his mind about Enos and wanted to see how this LA Tech game went:
“We still had a chance in the bowl game to see could there be potential for any improvement with the idea of, ‘Hey, this is something that can be turned around and get better’ ... Obviously the way that we performed in the bowl game just showed that was not the case.”

So, my desire for us to rip apart LA Tech, appears to have been ill placed. According to this quote, assuming it's not just coach speak (and I suspect it isn't), if we had ripped apart LA Tech like any team with our talent should have done, Manny would've pulled a Golden, and kept his buddy.
Wow. I mean, since he is coming back for one more season, I foolishly am hoping against hope that just maybe, we can have a positive season in 2020, but reading this quote... just wow....
Stop it. It's coach speak. Enos was dead man walking since the FIU game.
Diaz kept Enos through the bowl game because it gave him this b.s. "might've hung onto him" narrative so he didn't look bad for only keeping him to get him through the early signing period to lock in this offensive class.
There was no way he could've justified firing Enos between the 19th an 27th—which is the only reason he was on the sideline for the garbage *** bowl game and there were literally reports and tweets before kickoff that stated that barring some crazy change of plans, Miami was parting ways with Enos.
Beating Louisiana Tech 34-3 wasn't going to save Enos' job. He has been gone for a month and was only retained because of the early signing period.
Be smarter than this and don't fall for coach speak; this is a PR spin in case there are any ****ed off parents of recruits that liked Enos and would feel duped by his firing.
