Good find. Everything pre-Saban, from locker room cancers to a fluke double-digit win season and a coach at his alma mater, is eerily similar to Richt’s regime.

This means the next step is simple: find the next Nick Saban!!

If we are interested in winning, there's the recipe boys.

Richt is not a perfectionist. Richt is not a guy to demand excellence like Saban. Richt is a guy living it up at his retirement gig, enjoying the beautiful weather.

That's why we are where we are. And a lot of you expect positive change for next year? RETHINK! It is what it is!!

If the last 3 years aren't proof of this, then I do not know what will be.

This is REALITY people. Not the simplistic posts that are all over this board.

I guess Saban wasn't demanding perfection when he was coaching the Dolphins and they were getting butt raped weekly.

You know as well as I do that there's a HUGE difference between College and Pro Ball. Not the same game Bro!!

If you follow Meyer, Dabo and other highly successful coaches, the similarities to Saban's style are eerie!!

You mentioned Adam Gase in the OP. While he's not a good coach, at least he's taken the Dolphins to the playoffs. Something Nick Saban never did.

All we have to do is hire an active NFL coach with a National Championship ring? So that limits us to Pete Carol and...?

I mentioned him in the same breadth as MR for their excuses are identical. Adam Gase is totally incompetent but this is not about him. By the way the OC of the Broncos was not Gase during his tenure, it was Peyton Manning. Sorry for bringing Gase up!!!

Lmao difference is saban is a God💰💰💰..idk why ppl keep tryna use saban as a blueprint. 1st you need to be Gawd status

I think his point may have been misstated a little.

OP is simply saying your coach should be more Nick than Mark. Your coach should try to be as Saban as you can without actually be Saban.

Seriously though folks, although Vince Lombardi, Don Shula, Jimmy Johnson's coaching approach are/were very similar to Saban's, the challenge now is for our AD/Admin. to find "New Blood" with similar people skills/Qualities. They are out there people. Leaders are not created, they're born with those qualities.

Are you listening UM AD/Admin?? MR was not, is not and will not be the answer to our football program needs.

Wait, Richt isn’t as good as the best coach in the history of college football?

Well nobody told me that. This changes my opinion about EVERYTHING!

Thanks OP, this has been a real eye opener!

Exactly. All we needed to do was emulate the greatest college football coach of all time? Why didn't we think of this sooner?
