This is bullcrap

Heres the thing and Miami fans should know this: for a lot of young bucks, football is the only way out. For a lot of kids, getting drafted ensures they have made it. They get a lot of money for not having played a snap in the league with their rookie contracts.

I am not gonna tell someone to play in a meaningless bowl game if there is a risk the kid might end up losing millions of dollars due to injury and is not able to give his family a good life.

Just my two cents.

Problem I think is is when these kids opt for the pros being graded as a day two or three pick. Sometimes I think they believe if I can just make the practice squad I’m set. Transfer portal I see hurting high school prospects and smaller schools more. A good players emerges at a smaller school they will be looking to jump ship to a bigger school for more exposure. That then leaves that team void of its best playmakers but the player a better opportunity to prove he can play at a higher level. At the high school ranks it becomes so I take a chance on a kid developing over 2-4 years that will probably turn out a bust or take a formerly higher rated, physically ready player from the portal that can go now. I mean just check out 247 sports in a couple weeks they will have out a top 100 portal players listed by star rankings. Getting comical though at this point

Meh, outside of the playoff bowls are a farce used to employ and line the pockets of a whole bunch of execs, I enjoy watching them but could care less if guys don’t want to play a meaningless game right before the biggest job interview of their life.

Players JUMPING ship on not playing in the bowl games. What do you all think. I look at it as abondening the team. Plus the portal RULE. College football ain't the same.
College football isn’t for you then. Find another hobby.

It’s not a sport anymore; it’s a business. The sooner you realize that the less angry you get over stuff like this.

And what of the coaches. Riley, Kelly, maybe Cristobal?

Teams abandon players all the time when they’re no longer useful. Winning the dress barn bowl, or whatever ****** December 17 bowl game does nothing for the players. They give their heart and soul and now should absolutely think about themselves

It’s a a business decision foe the players now like it was for colleges when the proliferation of the bowls games started, MOST are worthless and it’s now watered down. I was talking to a recent grad, they told me that the revenue from bowl games are not what we see.

If they can, players should go get paid. I'm not letting anyone tell me how to take take care of my family or what I can make. If they have an opportunity to get paid and don't want to risk getting hurt playing for free in some bs bull for a bag worth If $300 crap then so be it.

Too many bowl games has made the post-season meaningless. Used to be a gift to go to a bowl. Howard Schnellenberger lobbied and fought like **** for that 1980 Peach Bowl berth against Virginia Tech after an 8-3 season—and Miami savored it.

There are now something like 42 Division-I bowl games; a kid is supposed to risk his NFL career for his 7-5 team to play in the Tony The Tiger Sun Bowl? C'mon now.

Kids will risk it for the Playoffs, but even a NY6 bowl game isn't worth a torn ACL three months before the Draft.

Ultimately, if it's not a playoff game, who cares? We can talk about brotherhood and playing for your teammates all we want, but those guys are not going to be paying your bills. They're not going to be taking care of your family. Also, let's not act like the universities are doing some gracious, altruistic act by providing scholarships to these guys. If football didn't bring in the type of money it does, you think those 85 scholarships are being offered? Of course not.

When we crown ourselves NFL U, what should we expect. I wish they would stay and play as well but $$$ talks. Sometimes it is not all about the “U” but all about the “me”….respek mur desishon
