This is an exceptionally poorly coached team

There are sprinklings of good players on this team, as alluded to by @RVACane in the gameday thread. Rooster, Kinchens, J Williams, and Arroyo could be excellent players given the right system, play designs, and play calls.

There will be some help with injured players back, but the trenches need a ****load of work. LB needs a total overhaul.

Other than that, it's hard to tell with some of these guys. Our situational coaching, be it substitution, play design, or play calling is so abysmal that I don't know what to make of a game like this.

We are sleeping on a wire every game because of the coaching, and this time we happened to win. I just don't feel the love right now.

These young guys are playing hard and rising despite the coRching putting them in bad spots. A competent staff would win the ACC this year. It has truly been a missed opportunity.

Exhibit A: The safety blitz. My gawd stop running that bs. Poorly designed, poorly timed, and poorly disguised. Instead of realizing it’s trash he now lines the safety at linebacker depth thinking it’ll get home faster. That play has gave up a td right to the area the safety vacated in all but one game this season.

And 4th and 17 a couple of years ago. Manny is so easy to read it's comical. OC's know it's coming from a mile away and have their QBs fully prepared for it.

1. 9 penalties for 66 yards (including one that gave NCST extra attempt at FG)
2. Perfectly executed fake punt attempt by NCST. Never seen one converted that easy.
3. More drops and muffed punts
4. Poor end of game coaching and clock management (huge clutch catch there on 3rd down by Mallory)

We somehow overcame these mistakes/poor coaching and hung on for the win. We aren't beating Pitt if we play like this.

Injuries forcing young guys into the game is why they won.
