This has to be the most illegitimate conference championship of all time

NC State loss was not technically a conference game when scheduled. I believe it was backfilled because both teams needed another game on the schedule and the conference games were already fleshed out.
Very true & not the first time. That said, it’s lazy & amateur hour. The conference should have a rule against scheduling non-conference games with conference members. This & the silly tie-breaker benefitting 7-5 Duke is an embarrassing & fodder for SEC lovers & national media.

Yeah living here in Charlotte the weather is supposed to suck this weekend. Cold rain all day Friday and Saturday morning. Might clear by the game but it’ll still be cold and damp. I’m not complaining since we desperately need the rain and don’t care about that game for a second. Will not watch.
You poor sod.

You poor sod.
Charlotte is actually a great place to live. Couple hours from the mountains, couple hours to the beach, seasonal change without terrible extremes (for the most part), Lake Norman, US National Whitewater Center, Carowinds, performing arts, multiple pro sports and some minor leagues, lots of breweries, good BBQ, major airport hub, reasonable cost of living, not too many people, better insurance rates. It's not Miami from a cultural perspective, but I enjoy the area. Slower pace of life overall.

It is the dullest place I've visited in the US - and I've been to 7 states.

The ACCCG between Duke & UVA plays at the same time as the BIG 10 game OSU vs Indiana.

This is enough reason for the ADs to remove everyone in the league office.

Zero ppl will be watching the ACCCG.
Watching all the commercials in the B1G championship is a better alternative to flipping over to the ACC game.

Duke is 7-5

And Virginia managed to not play the other 4 top ranked teams in the conference in Miami, GT, Pitt, SMU.

"If anyone has a gripe in this it's FSU! Both Virginia and UM beat FSU, whom, I am not sure if you've heard, beat Alabama. Now, both UM and UVA, only won because FSU beat themselves in those two games, plus 5 others times. So, essentially, FSU is undefeated having beaten the best team in ACC and all over CFB 7 times, in the same season." - FSU podcasters, probably

What happened here?... didn't watch that game.
UNC scored a TD vs UVA in OT.
17-16 UVA.

Instead of kicking the XP and going into OT2, they decided to win it right there and went for 2.
That's the pic of how short the ball carrier was for the win.

If they had made it, we would be in the ACCCG.

Looking back, this was the worst of the "what ifs" throughout the year.

Facts:

---Over 20 games, 18 featured TWO ranked teams, only 2 have matched a ranked team against an unranked team.

---In 2012, #13 ranked FSU played a 6-6 Georgia Tech team that had a 5-3 conference record (3 OOC losses, sounds familiar?)
---In 2018, #2 ranked Clemson played a 7-5 Pitt team had a 6-2 conference record (3 OOC losses, sounds REALLY familiar?)
---In 2025, (likely) #16 ranked UVa will play a 7-5 Duke team with a 6-2 conference record (3 OOC losses)

---In 2012, there were only 2 BCS teams selected for the final game, neither FSU nor GaTech had a shot to make it, but a GaTech win would have eliminated FSU from a hypothetical/2024-25 Top 12 team field
---In 2018, there were 4 BCS teams selected for the Final Four, thus Pitt could have cost Clemson and the ACC a lot of money by winning, but Clemson would have certainly made a hypothetical/2024-25 Top 12 team field
---In 2025, the ACC clearly did not learn its lesson from 2018, as well as the 2024 introduction of 12 teams in the CFP Playoff pool

---When the SEC opens the season having TEN ranked teams in the Top 25, not only does this create a "Human Centipede effect" where most SEC teams will remain ranked all season long, but it also limits opportunities for ACC teams to advance on their own merits by beating ranked teams, of which there were very few ranked ACC teams who remained ranked all season long

---In a FIVE-WAY tiebreaker for second place in a 17-team conference, the literal WORST team of the five qualified for the championship game on one of the last possible mathematical tiebreakers
---Duke has received ZERO votes from any AP writers or AFCA coaches in this week's poll, meaning that AT LEAST 41 schools are ranked ahead of Duke in the AP poll and AT LEAST 42 schools are ranked ahead of Duke in the AFCA poll
---Because of how low BOTH Duke and UVa are ranked, this makes it incredibly unlikely that Duke would achieve ANY ranking in the final CFP poll, even with a victory over UVA
---By contrast, James Madison. North Texas, and Tulane are ranked 19th through 21st, respectively, in both the AP and AFCA polls, and as THREE of the FOUR participants in the AAC and Sunbelt Championship Games, this makes it incredibly LIKELY that two of these three teams would finish the season ranked in the Top 25 of the CFP Poll (Tulane is already ranked 24th as of last week), in an outcome that would eliminate Duke (assuming Duke beats UVa) from receiving a CFP playoff invitation
