Is winning alone enough to consistently get 4 and 5 star recruits? Specifically us. Seems like it's all about the money now with all these sec teams paying players and family kickbacks etc. hypothetically. If we have a great season and go 11-2 and an ACC champ birth but are not cheating like other schools and paying guys, etc, can we really keep up with LSU and Bama and their huge fan bases and alumni? Honestly, I'm not sure. Wonder what people's thoughts are? Maybe we already do this too but on a smaller level? Seems like the program is pretty clean though but who knows.

Yes, winning is enough. Those who constantly blame money in the SEC or whatever excuse they want to toss out there are the ones who keep getting passed up for promotions or chicks. There's some money in college sports these days, but far less than there ever was.

All SEC teams except for Vanderbilt have "foundations" in place that raise money for the teams and they use part of the money to pay recruits. My wife's godfather is a big donor to Arkansas' foundation and my ex-boss actually led the Dawgs foundation. The foundations NEVER give money directly to the school, they pay the recruits directly and there is no tie between the schools and each "foundation".

John told me that their highest "contribution" ever was to Alex Collins. SEC is like a mafia. The SEC also has more executives on the NCAA that any other school. Having said that, the NCAA slapped our wrist in regard to Shapiro.

I swear an IQ test is needed for this site.

At least for the starting thread function.

Yeah, if Miami starts winning 10+ games on the reg again, we'll win over big time recruits. The draw of staying close to home to play for a championship caliber program with people they know will be a sufficient tool in the hands of competent recruiters. Think positive, dude. Joaquin said dominate.

OP is a soft shouldered golden winged f****t. Miami's location is the top thing we have going for these recruits these days. Too much time has passed since we were relevant and in that time the three coaching staffs we had were putrid. The community had turned on Miami if you read Pete's article and for the first time since Butch Davis we have a staff that actually knows what the **** they are doing. They know how to compete with the SEC as it's where they came from and are now selling a better product that what they were. Have some faith, will ya?

Miami has a great location for recruiting. That should be enough to win.

At least unless you have a coach like Golden or Shannon. Both of which were so bad I was hoping that Larry Coker would become coach at halftime and rescue the team at least 5 games a year.

OP's throat is a depository for the the ***** collected by fluffers.

Change your tampon next time you post

one last thing.....fug the $EC...threads like this contribute to the myth that is the SEC hype. OP stick to your depository work and stay off the boards

I think winning actually matters more now in recruiting than in the past. People are more willing to go to a school thousands of miles away if you aren't winning.
