Think of this about Perry...

Still not playbook savy n heard from several ppl connected to the program he is not as dedicated as many would like. Ask the writer on here, they will tell you the same. His mobility is much more explosive though.

If true or even partially true I'm hoping this game lights a fire under him realizing he could be the one.

Got to respect the fact that Richt gave Perry some easy throws to get him started and gain some confidence. After Perry showed he was comfortable and had a reasonable amount of knowledge of the offense, Richt opened it up a little more.

he did not have two of our best receiver available. Secondly he spread the ball around. Thirdly he throws tight spiral bullets. Fourth his scrambles are to gain time to find a receiver unlike Rosier. Loved it and see him improving given a chance to continue...has Rosier ever been 10 for 11 as Perry was in the first half. Loving it!

I am totally onboard with moving forward with Perry. Of all the points you highlighted, the scrambling to buy time is a double edged sword. There is a time and place for both buying time and just running. We need 1st downs and to extend drives. If a lane is there for Perry to run for a 1st down he must take it. We can’t have Perry thinking Pass or Run when the lane for a run is clearly there. Bad things can happen when you scramble just to keep a play alive.

Love the move to Perry but the O line is still a huge issue. This will play out against Major D1 teams. O line has to improve significantly for us to win out

Perry was about to smack the **** out of the left side of the line after they let him get hit a couple times.

FIU has some impressive defensive Linemen and we handled them fairly well...I think the OL is drastically improved sine the season started, also Perry's elusiveness is different and superior to Rosier which helps the OL...time will tell but this is a young team with unlimited potential and improves every week.

They barely threw the ball up the field. It was a very safe very conservative offense. Perry maybe slightly better than Malik but he is not the answer either. Williams will win the job next year.

I actually agree with this. It nkosi at least lit a spark for the offense. Loved how he went to the OL after TD drives.

Guys wanna play for him.

I think he showed decent decision making on this front in the FIU game.

While I'm not inclined to disagree...we don't need to force the ball down the field with our WRs...or at least we don't have to.

All we need right now is what Perry brings to the table. He moves the chains, and connects on the easy throws. Hitting WRs in stride, much like Perry did when he threw the first TD to Cager, is exactly what this offense needs. So, Perry gives major upgrades on accuracy and arm strength from Rosier...I don't care if our playbook is limited a little bit...with the talent we have, we don't have to run a crazy complicated scheme.

Full disclosure - I hate Tom Brady....can't stand him. But he's been the best QB for years in the NFL. You know how Tom Brady beats people? With short/intermediate passes that are accurate AF and give his weapons the ability to make plays after the catch...and continuously moving the chains, controlling the possession methodically.

Now...Perry ain't Tom Brady. Don't get it twisted. BUT - with our weapons at all of the skill positions, all we need for him to do is make the right read, throw the right ball on time, and let those dudes make plays. We don't need him to be a superhero at QB...just be as steady as possible, make extra plays when the opportunity presents itself - but most importantly, keep the chains moving. The rest will take care of itself.

You start Perry over Rosier simply off that Perry can actually do the easy stuff, Rosier struggles with the easy stuff

true but love the fact that he is a fast twitch athlete back there as opposed to malik. it seems like malik doesnt have the quickness to make anybody miss. perry can make guys miss in and around the pocket.

I definitely heard that earlier on but recently both Richt and Brown have praised his continued maturity and increased grasp of the playbook. The kid is far from a finished product. I like what I see so far and expect him to only get better going forward as he gains more experience..
I'm with you here. It definitely appears as though Perry has taken that criticism well and has challenged himself to get better in those areas where he was lagging behind.

better to have a 2nd year player that can actually execute the 65% of the playbook that he knows, than a 5th year guy that is a coin toss on the 100% that he knows.
