Think about why Jimbo left...

Judging by the number of assistants that he didn't bring over from Trailerhassee, he realized things had gone stale at fsu and that
he needed to overhaul his staff.
Sometimes it is better to move on and build your staff at new program then fire a bunch of people and get yourself on the
hotseat if you don't win a bunch of games the following season.

Florida can't find a QB, FSU had one go down and they sucked, we started Rozier with a roster full of POTENTIAL studs...why was that? UCF, So FL, FAU and FIU probably all had better QB's then the big three.
Fortunately all colleges face the dilution of talent since there are so many 1A Universities...129 to be exact and all have some great players but few have a lot of them. My point is that we cannot expect domination IF we have injuries as we did this year. We had two RB's, no depth at TE ending the season with a freshman at TE, a less then stellar QB and won 10 games. Florida has been down for several years now, FSU just lost a top coach and got one that at South Florida had a 24-25 won loss record. The Gator got Dan Mullen who was 69-46 overall but 33-39 in SEC play.
Our competition for talent now will be all the major universities plus the newer Florida Universities that actually have better coaches then FSU or Florida. Things ain't like the past for any Florida teams, including us.

Will be interesting. I would think aTm will be much better under Jimbo and could be a dangerous program for the SEC.

Hubert Sumlin to Jimbo is in the same ballpark as Folden to Richt, IMO.
 
It's obvious why he left, between Winston and his wife there was just to many "Crab Legs " in Tallahassee Just Sayin

Not so sure. Willie has that Randy feel to me. Little better in that he has HC experience but I think he caught a falling knive. Since their title year the team was basically Cook despite repeated top recruiting classes. Jimbo really did nothing with all that talent — maybe leaving before he was exposed os another Coker. The is no herd of coaches heading to Tally forchance two work for Willie and the noles.
 
Here's why Jimbo left, and it isn't just about money. Fans in Florida typically don't appreciate what they have. Success breeds more demands from fans, not leniency. We saw it at UF. Meyer wins 2 National Titles and fans started screaming bloody murder at every loss. He has a 7-5 season, which is average for most programs, but terrible for Meyer. He quits. You should have seen all the "Fire Urban Meyer" chants that season. Same is true for Jimbo in 2016. We saw the chants for Jimbo to get axed because he didn't immediately fire every assistant coach with a perfect unit. Texas A&M saw another Urban Meyer in Jimbo Fisher. Come here and win another National Title like Meyer did with Ohio State, or even Saban with Alabama. How many fans of ours fault Richt for never winning a National Championship? Having a ring is a huge resume item.

So in aTm they have a fan base who will welcome Jimbo with open arms as well as an admin with deep pockets. FSU had a fan base that had a growing anti Jimbo faction. An admin that increased spending, but not to Jimbo's liking. Jimbo had Dabo envy.

Last but not least, Jimbo's ego. No way should FSU have allowed Jimbo to name the football camp after him. That's BS. Was Jimbo paying out of his pocket to fund the staff and facilities or was it FSU?

And just like our fans with Golden, their fans were right.

They had kids on that team that were threatening to transfer if He brought back some of His ACs.

He was also losing a lot of recruitings battles.

Seriously, who on that team besides Akers scares you?

He was also chasing stars...they never offered McIntosh...they offered Norton as an OG...they never offered Perry...they weren't in the head to head for Bruce & Richards...they lost a head to head for Fields to UGA...they lost Cook to UGA.

They weren't even in it for Lingard, and Daytona is in their recruiting wheelhouse.

Case in point. It seems like any coach is subject to being garbage regardless of his resume. Winning records and championship rings are meaningless. "What have you done for me lately?"

Literally every school does that. There is a Mark Richt football camp separate and apart from the Paradise Camp.

I stand corrected. Thank you. Jimbo's was the first time I'd heard of this. Also when Dabo was showcasing his infamous playground slides he mentioned "The Dabo way" which irked me too.
