Think about this - has any college football program had a better week, ever?

Now before the haters get too crazy, think about this:

---For nearly 100 years, UM has been knocked by rivals for not having an on-campus football stadium
---For decades, UM has been mocked for not having a large Athletics budget, certainly not on par with "blue-bloods"
---For 30 years (since Erickson), UM has been told that the Head Coach job was not that desirable, and that we do not pay a salary to attract the best coaches

So in ONE WEEK, we went from "Miami is a ****show" headlines (literally, that is a quote), to exploding three of the biggest myths/insults about our program. I realize the stadium isn't built yet, but nobody can tell us "it will never happen". And Radakovich/Mario, plus the increased budgetary commitment, destroys the other two.

The ONLY THING you could possibly add to the "best week ever" narrative would be "Miami to join the SEC". Or maybe "Pat Riley comes out of retirement to coach UM men's hoops".

I don't know how it will all turn out. But can ANYONE name any better "one week storyline" at any university in the past 100 years? Seriously? And I know it was a huge day when any university gets the SEC invitation, but did ANY of those SEC schools also hire a top AD and/or a top HC and/or get news about possible stadium construction at the same time?

While I truly hope and pray that our new AD and HC succeed in the next few years, you have to also be honest and say that nearly EVERY ridiculous smack-talking anti-Miami criticisms made by our rivals...are now DEAD ISSUES.

Except, maybe, for attendance smack. And I seriously think that gets eliminated soon, one way or another. Either the multi-year Broward/Palm Beach no-shows start showing up again, or the entire SoFla community re-starts the party within a 5-mile radius of the hallowed Orange Bowl grounds.

Honestly, seems like we ended the week and started this one as two completely different programs. We’ve suddenly decided to stop paying cheap and acting like a G5 school and now are acting like the P5 we’ve been all along.

Refreshing. It’s going to be great to see where this all goes.

The streets are talking.
Wait till Friday. The amount of change in just 5 days is gonna have this place acting like a kid in Christmas.

We already spent more on assistant coaching salaries then every team in acc not named Clemson. Now we are about to surpass Clemson on spending. Expecting bama money assistant coach salaries

It’s epic. To go from 1.2 M for Shannon to finally spending 4M for Richt was nearly impossible. And his budget was so low he had to donate his 1M of that back for the IPF and hire his son, a former bartender. and a high school coach as three of his position coaches.

We’re in the big leagues now. With a big league recruiter at the helm.

well, USC got Riley and his only competition in the PAC-12 just caught a jet back home. Theyve had a pretty good week.

but yeah, this is awesome

If Ruiz and co. are open to the idea of a stadium somewhere in Miami proper it's possible. If they're hellbent on having it in CG it ain't happening.

Look, we agree. The CGHS site has not ever been something that struck me as particularly likely. "Close"? Sure. "Likely"? Not so much.

If Ruiz is flexible and/or willing to work with the Mas brothers, something might could happen in less than 10 years, though.
