Think about consistent top 10 recruiting classes each year.

That’s what I hope to see if Mario is our coach.
And that will transform the program…
Not only that. He’s is 24/7 tireless worker.
He has the will to rebuild this program. Lane Kiffen is a good coach, but Mario will rebuild this

That shouldn’t be the goal. We pull consistent top 15 classes and we suck. We need better evals, better balance, and better development. There are usually a bunch of 4* WR/DBs that good evaluators know aren’t going to be that good. Take a few of them and your class rank looks great. Then you can’t make them into much and half of them transfer leaving you with holes in your roster and overrated players. Plus there aren’t a ton of great OL/DT guys in south Florida so you have to go National for that.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to complain if they hire Mario. That said, I want a coach that can win with scheme. If you get a guy that can recruit decently and then puts together an exciting, relevant product, the recruiting will get better. People act like Lane Kiffin hasn't had success recruiting, like he's Dan Mullen, who is extremely weird. I can see Lane turning on the charm in living rooms, especially with the Moms, and doing quite well.

What worries me about Mario is what happens when he can't straight up outtalent teams. He hasn't shown the ability to maximize the talent available to him. When you don't hire strong offensive coaches, you tend to have weeks where less talented teams stick around, when you should be able to pull away. Eventually, that will get you beat. If Mario is the guy, I hope Rad or whomever the AD is reads him the riot act and demands that he hires a top end OC and DC. You don't know if Garcia can be productive, you know TVD is likely the goods. Don't waste the next season with him, cash it in and hope he decides that he wants a run at the title and returns in 2023.

I got a secret for you….name a coach in a P5 conference over the last 10 years that’s won 10+ games in a year, 3 or more times, that didn’t have more talent than most of their opponents? (maybe Wisconsin? but they are still more talent than most of the big ten aside from Mich,OSU and PSU.)

The name of the game is to make the playoffs.

And once you get there, just like in the NFL you just hope you have the best QB on that day.

You guys think, Sark and B.O.B are some super elite offensive gurus? They are solid but they ain’t that.

Ryan Day’s vaunted scheme is literally crossers, over routes and streaks.

How about Clemson’s OC guru? He’s looking super average this year.

Yeah Lane is a fantastic offensive mind.

And I’d love to have him.

But the reality is that scheme will only take you so far.

As I think Dan Mullen disproved this notion that all you have to do is win on the field and recruits will come to you.

Mario has his issues. But is he:

-better than Diaz? Yes
-better than a washed up and likely mentally ill Richt? Yes
-better than Golden? Yes
-better than Shannon? Yes
-better than Coker? Yes

Now the above may not be hard to beat but he’s the best overall coach we would have had since Butch. I would love Lane but he would be the best upgrade we’ve had in over 20 years. You absolutely take that deal.

If he gets the overall quality of our program to a consistent top ten top 15 program every year (and no championship) then that is STILL a success because local kids, national kids, and coaches will be on alert that we can be a serious threat again.

We need coordinators that have the Xs Os down. The HC needs to pay attention to recruiting

Mentally ill?

He was diagnosed several years after coaching here for something that likely doesn’t just develop over night.

Not too difficult to understand.
Not difficult to understand as long as u understand what mental illness is. MS isn’t a mental illness.

The narrative that Mario can not out talent teams is simply not true. I believe he has four wins and one loss against Top 10 teams. That means he won 80% of the games where he likely did not have a talent advantage. He beat a very talented Ohio State team in Columbus this year with a depleted roster where he had a talent and home field disadvantage.

I agree that he has lost games he should not have lost. This also happened to very talented Clemson teams against Syracuse and Pittsburgh that made the playoffs. Mario needs to work on this but he is 1000% better than Manure in this regard. I assure you he will not lose to FIU.
