It’s the most fascinating thing of our fall. I just can’t believe the participation trophy mindset that’s everywhere in this fanbase

Having a losing season your first year does not mean you'll turn a program around but all coaches that turned a program around had a bad first season.

The loss yesterday was unacceptable, but this is why we have a new coach and staff. The roster is bad and this year is going to be rough.

I’ll be at UNC because I personally believe that Mario can get this fixed. I’m also extremely disappointed in what I saw yesterday and I expected us to win the Coastal this year.

Both things can be true.

Pittman - first time HC with an abysmal roster in the SEC West
Kiffin - worse roster than ours in the SEC West
Aranda - first time HC with a worse roster than ours in the Big 12
Heupel - worse roster than ours in the SEC East
Dabo - first time HC with a roster worse than ours

Every single one of them took over teams with tougher schedules and worse rosters. Half of them first time HC’s. Not a fair comparison at all.

Stop spreading all this disinformation misinformation hahahahah
Besides records
The team should show signs of improvement
So far we haven’t seen any improvement except oline blocking
Everyone else seems to have regressed

There are players still on this roster from 68 points by UNC.
There are players still on this roster from FIU, LaTech and Duke.

Why is it not hard to rationalize this loss? This same group of players have a handful of these under their belt. The same program.

Players still on this roster from 2019 that play quite a bit...Will Mallory, Al Blades, DJ Ivey, Gil Frierson, Jordan Miller, TeCorey Couch, Keontra Smith, Jakai Clark, Zion Nelson, John Campbell, DJ Scaife, Harrison-Hunte, Steed, Hedley, Jahfari Harvey...these guys have seen a lot of bad Ls and that is your elderstatesmen in the program. They've also experienced a lot of bad coaching.

Its pretty conceivable that this group could also lose to Middle Tennessee State. Pretty easy to rationalize.

Lol, like we have anything to do with the equation.

I don’t think any cane fan was happy about the loss yesterday. But a huge difference in being emotion and crying about firing everyone after 4 games, after taking over an average team of players.

Isn't this technically a counter argument? All of these coaches were coordinators or HCs at much smaller schools before moving to a p5 program. None of them walked into a somewhat talented roster, except maybe Aranda.
Mario came from OREGON! The same currently 15th rank Oregon.
I wasn't expecting a NY6 bowl or anything this year, but I wasn't expecting 3 struggles and and a Fill O Failure sandwich to MTSU. Who knows, maybe this gets turned around, but if we ever go down 14 again, turn the TV off. We can't score 14 plus the winning point.

That is the real kicker. Somehow it always looks worse, kids get worse not better. It is honestly unfathomable how kids come to Miami and rarely, if ever, get better over their time here now.
