They say CMR can't win the big ones.....

not sure why all the hate for the OP, half this **** board questioned the richt hire because "he couldn't win the big one"

the one thing i can say is, ever since he started I felt like we had a better chance to lose than win, and for the most part that's been true outside of VT last year

dude is 16-4 here, good for an 80% win pct, 12 in a row, and two mammoth games ahead.

times are good

We won against FSU this year at Doak...after losing seven times in a row. With a relatively inexperienced QB.

Richt can win games. He can win big games.

Don't forget how long it took Bobby Bowden at FSU to win the big one.

And he did it right. He didnt duck us like ANOTHER Florida team.

Jimmy Johnson took over at UM the year after a national championship. Richt inherited the Al Golden/NCAA cloud show. Still, Jimmy lost 5 games his first year and lost 2 in his second. Even in year 3 with an amazing collection of talent and a Heisman QB, he lost "the big one." But JJ is rightly thought of with reverence here. So for Richt, these next 2 games won't say much about whether he can win the big one, and they certainly won't determine where this program is going to be 2-3 years from now. That's Richt's job - to build the foundation so that this program is ready to win the big one without it being some kind of crazy upset. Anything big we win in the meantime is pure joy our fans ought to bask in, but the real goal is to get to a different place than where we are now.

He did something golden never did.

Beat a team that ended the year in the top 25, West Virginia last year

Have a chance at 3-4 more this year. (GT maybe, Toledo if they finish with one loss, VT, ND)

Wrong Argument.

The Al Golden show left Kendrick Norton, McIntosh, Chad Thomas, Demetrius Jackson, Trent Harris, Gerald Willis, Michael Jackson, Malik Rosier, Mark Walton, Braxton Berrios, Tyree St Louis, KC McDermott, Jaquan Johnson and others....dont forget the committed recruits... Michael Pinckney, Zach McCloud, Shaq quarterman, Joe Jackson, Ahmad Richards and others

Beating FSU with the pressure of a 7 game losing streak added to the mix is a big game for our program. Winning a bowl game in year 1 is a big game. More big wins to come starting this Saturday.

Who was Miami's head coach for number 7?

Even if we lose to VT and ND I'm not gonna put it on CMR. We are in year 2 of a full rebuild. We are at 73 scholarship players, star RB out for year, baseball player at QB, and youth everywhere.

ND is better than us right now. In the trenches is where their strength is.

VT is def winnable, but I still think Fuentes has his system up and running faster than Richt to this point (helps that a top 5 DC decided to stay on staff). CMR didn't have that luxury.

Fuente also didn't have to rescue the entire program from the depths of despair the way Richt did. VT was getting crusty and stale under Beamer, but he still left that program in a far better place than ours was in 2015 - they didn't have to do anything close to a full rebuild of the culture. Golden did leave some decent players for Richt to work with, that's about it.

On a missed PAT in his 5th game... against a very good FSU team

Gtfoh troll

Are you ignoring the fact that that extra point would have only tied the game? Also, are you ignoring the fact that Miami lead
13-0 at one point?

Stop making ridiculous excuses. Golden wasn't a good coach. However, he left very good players. Look at the roster now. The majority of the starters, who we like a lot, were signed by Golden or committed to Golden.

Mark richt is a better Coach than Al golden was. He should get better results. There is no reason to make excuses. Golden sucked but he brought in quality players. If you don't believe me, ask the NFL.

It might seem unfair, but Rick's gotta beat Vag Tech this year. All the good he's done takes a huge gut punch if he can't win the Coastal this year.

Some UM fans are setting VT up as some great program, but they aren't. They're a good, well-coached team that overachieves.

They don't get the material we get, and we're playing at home in front of a packed house at night. We had one real goal this year, and Rick's been hammering that regularly--win the Coastal.

We're healthy. We're home. We've got better material. It's our time. I'm smelling an ambush for 60 minutes. Everything comes together for us for a magical fall night.

Doesn't matter that Richt has only had 1.5 recruiting classes, the talent on our roster should trump all of the boondock Virginia 3 stars that comprise the VagTech roster. This game should, and will be, an assertion of our dominance over the ACC

It's going to be close until the end, where we pop off a big play to seal the deal ala Syracuse. 8-0 sounds good. Real good.

So if we lose to VT( I don't think we will)

Then GT beats VT do we still have a failed season since we go to the ACC champ game ?

This is why he gets paid the big bucks - to win games like this

You speak about material, print out a copy of this years roster and check back in a few years and see just how many programs across the country will have as many guys in the NFL(or just drafted) as Miami.

The guys should be up after last weeks desultory effort.

National prime time game

A ton on the line

And it's at home, to boot
