OK, been gone for awhile ( had a busy week last week traveling, covering GGG-Derevyanchenko, etc) so don't call this is a comeback.

But I dont want to say we have hit rock bottom, because I fear the worst is yet to come.

Before I took off for MSG, I watched that first half vs Vatech and was sickened but not surprised. As they ended up losing, I felt numb and for the first time, I really felt hopeless about the direction of the program.

I didn't expect a national title this season, but I expected at least some competency. I mean, last year was one of the worst coached years Ive ever seen at UM -- and this is worse. Yeah, Manny Diaz was great in the off-season but he's proven to be an abject failure as the CEO of this program. This team simply isn't coached well, there's no other way to say it. I wanted this to work( as I did for every other guy that came and failed here, but this time, I'm not waiting for the deck chairs to be rearranged on the Titanic before I jump ship. Now, Manny turns this around, great, I'd be glad to be wrong, but we gotta call a spade a spade at this moment)

I'll still watch all the games (Im a glutton) but for now, actually making the effort to travel 3000 miles and book hotels, etc, nah, sorry can't do it in good conscience.

This too shall pass.

One day it will.

Ok, but before climate change ends the world?!?! We dont have that much time!!

I mean there really is nothing else that needs to be said.

I hope he turns it around. If not? Well I love tailgating with friends and family but I am not emotionally invested outside of having a good time.

The longterm issue is not Diaz. The issue is the AD and the BOT.

We shall see.

I dont disagree, this is a complete systemic breakdown taking place with the UM football program

Where have you gone Sam Jankovich?

Disappointing as ****. Waited all off season and summer. Then start getting excited to see the Canes play again, foolishly start buying into the whole TNM BS and see some hope with all the portal transfers. Only to have to watch this incompetent cluster f week after week. I was not expecting an ACC title or even the coastal, but was hopeful we could have a good season with this lousy schedule. Boy was I wrong, this might be the worst Canes team I have seen. Just awful, we’ll be lucky to be bowl eligible.

I have a good life outside of the Canes. So I'll always keep all this in perspective

While I am EXTREMELY disappointed in our team's performance and wish we would perform better......besides the entertainment value I gain from being a Cane fan....I don't gain or lose ANYTHING.

When they win ....it doesn't make me a better person, owner, or family man...or bring me closer to GOD......I do not get better seats, better tasting food, traffic doesn't clear for me, nor am i treated any better when I travel or receive additional discounts at stores as a result

My fortunes and self esteem has NEVER been tied to how well the Canes do.

Maybe IF it did make me stronger, faster, better looking, live longer, have more women throw themselves at me, and become more respected by my peers....I would be more concerned....BUT it doesnt.....my life doesn't change

I've been a fan when the Canes were nothing, constantly GREAT and now when they constantly disappoint.....that won't change...nor will my neverending hope that we return to the top

Sounds like you've been to a counselor. Can I get his name please.

I too didn't expect a National Championship. All I cared to see was UM playing inspired football-- the kind that points to a better tomorrow-- with decent game plans, solid fundamentals and consistent effort. In other words, it didn't take much to be, "#TNM." Now, somehow, we regressed from what was truly already an embarrassment. Fold in what will be a second low P5, or worse, recruiting class and this thing can get even worse. We're this **** poor with some decent talent, get a load of what happens when there's even less.

I am afraid you will stand correct. We haven’t seen rock bottom yet

When Miami won 10 games in 2017, many of us thought Diaz would be a great successor to Richt. 2018 revealed that teams had started to figure Diaz out. You even heard it from other coaches in anonymous surveys- Diaz was predictable and all gimmicks. I was really surprised by that criticism, but there was no reason to lie (btw, most coaches also say Mike Leach is a very good coach, which may shock the anti-Leach board dummies). That highlighted that Diaz was not well respected and would probably have trouble getting a quality staff if he was HC.

Fast forward to end of season, James lazily hires Diaz. I was skeptical but figured that as his dream job, Diaz would build an ace staff. He would be determined to get it right immediately to show fans that he didn't need training wheels. I thought he'd be a 21st century guy and move to a spread offense. Nope. Same as before. Bad sign.

On defense we went through the names of position coaches who were also excellent recruiters. Could Corey Raymond handle the job? Maybe as DC? What about Kevin Patrick? Nope, he plundered La Tech. That showed me that my fears were warranted- big time assistant coaches didn't want to work for Manny. What about Enos? He's big time, right? I suspect he just wanted to get the **** away from Saban and was already planning on bouncing out of Miami for a G5 HC gig as soon as it is offered.

The big question is whether Diaz truly wanted this staff or if it was the best he could get. I strongly suspect it was the latter.

Yeah, you get a Latech staff, you get Latech results defensively
