They got killers, I don't know any other way to say it

Where are you now on the win total?
I felt during the summer that we’d get 8 wins and lose to ND and UiF. Before we played nd I said i thought we’d probably beat the gator because Lagway was injured and had no reps and I questioned whether we’d even see him bc i thought LSU would finish him off but I said I’d leave the prediction in place as it was.

I said after one of the games before this after ND or Bethune that assuming we beat the gator we legit could run the table to the playoffs. I expect us to stumble and I think we could lose to fsu potentially but I want to watch them at UVA as i haven’t watched them this year and I actually thought castellanos would be better than some on this board.

This team is much better than I expected. We should be a playoff team.

They haven't been challenged for a reason. The defense as a whole is playing phenomenal. Let the scars of Guidry go 😂
Exactly, X has locked everything down all season, these DBs are taking away short passes and giving the defensive line time to get home. Watching the 24 Minnesota defense, I knew these players would thrive, but it’s even better than I expected.

Cam would have been on the bench by the 3rd quarter of every game lol. He wouldn’t have had the opportunity to break as many records as he did, but Miami would have blown the doors off every team not named Ohio State.
This defense would have given Jeremiah Smith problems. Cam and their QB would have traded TD's in the Natty. The ONLY problem team in the playoffs last year would have been the Domers, precisely because of that dad gum mobile QB of theirs, who was the motor of their offense.

Cam's presence here was off by one year. Dadgummit!

Love this defense. Can't remember the last time I saw some many guys on that side of the ball flying around and swarming to the ball. They actually want to hit people. So many seasons our defense felt soft. Missed tackles no effort. Tons of explosives given up. Hope they keep this same fire all season. Hard not to think what it would have been like to couple this defense with last year's #1 offense....

Heatherman is putting the guys in position to play Fast and Fyzical!!!!! They are swarming like the glory days - watch how many guys are around the ball when the 1st tackler makes contact.

I can not wait to watch this team at Doak - nothing better than silencing that tomahawk chop.

I said it. I thought this was about an 8 win season because I didn’t see the pieces in the middle in the front 7 but previous Cane guys stepped up, Inbound Canes transfers stepped up - Hetherman was a killer hire - and here we are.
This is why Blay is such an underrated addition. He is very stout and deals with double teams very well. Not only that he is much quicker than I expected. I pretty shocked by his level of play so far.

Makes me think coach Lewis was trying throw people off when he said Blay wasn't quick at all.

I think anyone who watched the UF game winced a few times at the hits UM defenders (and Oline) were putting on them. It was brutal. UM just has bigger, faster and more violent players. In the 2nd half it seemed like UF players were falling like flies. And even when they stayed in the game you could see UF players in pain.
28 kept holding his mid section.
The WR went straight to the locker room after Wes put a helmet into his rib cage
The Oline were pushing so hard that they were rolling up UF defenders.

It was pretty mean…and beautiful.
And that right there is the difference, ladies and gentlemen. First time in a long time I’ve seen a UM team that is just physically dominating their opponents. Punishing them into submission the way Bama and UGA did during their championship runs.

Our guys were trying to break UF players in half. That’s physical superiority and killer instinct. In 2024 and in 2017, we simply found ways to win. In 2025, we are out to punish and it’s beautiful to see.

Fair play to Lagway, he took a hit from Poyser (I think) that I thought would put him in the medical tent.

I was told by someone who attended a practice before the season that Blay was really good. It’s him, medidor and Bain and the young guys stepping up. It’s the whole defense doing well
