They’re deliberately killing the sport

As much as Bama hopping ND made no sense, we NEEDED it to happen.

Outside of Bama fans, we should be the only other fan base happy about this.

It gives us an opportunity — we’re in if BYU loses and Bama wins.

Are you being serious? How can you be sure miami still has a chance?

Corrupt old dbag losers are all about the money grab despite the harm it will cause to the sport..

All this really a cash grab by ESPN for their sec...
Why didn't they do that last year for the $EC? Why are they seemingly gifting a spot to ND when they aren't an ESPN property?

Yes.

If ND was still #9, there wouldn’t even be a discussion on our board. Now that they are #10, we are within one spot of them with a BYU loss.
Yes but they arent going to jump nd at 10 in favor of miami? Even if we go to 11 after byu loses Virginia if they win will be 11. I don't see how they are going to put miami at 10 after next week unless Bama loses big along with byu. Even still it feels like nd is a lock. I am not following you. Please elaborate.

ND had their own personal NBC tv contract for years, do you think they are going to get left out when they can command that type of rigged bs and no one says a word...

Money talks and this entire process is about separating the big fish from little fish...

I hope I am wrong and Miami gets in...

If BYU loses by a lot, like they are supposed to, then they are going to drop below us.

If Bama beats UGA, Georgia won’t fall 6 spots. At the worst, they will probably just flop spots with Bama.

If the above two happen, not only is Miami now right behind ND, but ND has no way of moving up.

We will now by 11 and ND is 10. At that point, how do you not flip us? There is no one else in the equation anymore. Head to head has to matter.

The same conference who’s talking heads screamed and cried to congress about how money to the athletes is going to ruin the game; is/has been actively destroying the sport and what little shred of integrity that was left in it, because of their vested interest and money that’s involved in media/TV deals etc etc

I agree but my argument is if we were going to jump nd based on head to head wouldnt it have happened already? It feels like either you are right and in minority here or you are having false hope. I agree based on logic, you would think we should jump nd if we were one spot from them. But I am not convinced that the playoff committee sees things from that perspective. I hope you are right and I am dead wrong.

Why does ND having a contract with NBC rigged bs? Sounds like nothing more than capitalism to me.

I do agree with your point of it separating the big fish from the little fish. It will continue to be B1G, $EC, and ND with crumbs for the rest of college ball.

I just wonder why ND is in that mix? You'd think the P2 would make it more difficult for ND to get in to force their hand to join one of them.

Unfortunately, I don't think the Canes are getting in.

I don't believe so. All the committee did was try to quell the noise about their picks.

Come Sunday they will **** over Miami and when it's over nothing will be done about it like FSU in 2023.

The only real path forward is for Mario to allow Miami to play like JJ's Miami and run up scores. Sportsmanship be damned

The chair of the committee just said head to head is easier to use when teams are right next to one another. BYU makes the comparison inconvenient. They weren’t going to move us above BYU because of ND.

Once BYU is out of the way, now it’s just us and ND. They can make the switch.

Thanks, I agree. I am just not at all confident in the committee up to this point that we will get any benefit of doubt over ND to make the playoff. Nothing they have done so far has led me to believe that up to this point. I want to be wrong but I am being realistic.

I hear ya and don’t blame you. I just have a really good feeling about this, as long as Texas Tech and Bama take care of business.

I thought we had to root against Bama going into tonight. It seems like a total guessing game. How can we be so sure?
Bama is going to be in no matter what happens in the SEC championship game. The committee moved them up to make sure of that, so they won’t drop any lower than #10.

If they lose to UGA, however, ND might be able to hop them again preventing the head to head comparison with us. We don’t want that.

We want Bama to win. They will move up and UGA will move down. But both will be ranked above ND, keeping ND locked at 10. That’s what we want.

Thanks Genghis Cane. So basically we are rooting for Bama in the prayer that the committee has us jump nd based on head to head which still may not happen? I guess anything is possible at this point.

Yes, root for Bama and Texas Tech.

Then, I think we’re in.

I understand this all seems stupid and that it’s easy to be skeptical, but I’m confident for the first time in weeks that we make it in. The stars are aligning — we have a path….just need some things to go our way.
