These numbers clearly indicate nothing is wrong with our run scheme and or our OL

The numbers below are just to further showcase how porous our run game is. I only used rushing attempts by our RBs versus FBS opponents. I did not include any rushes that were 3 yards or less that led to TD runs, which there were a few.

52% of the time we are gaining 3 yards or less per rush attempt. Look how consistent the results are.

Notre Dame
35 Rushing Attempts by RBs
19 ended up as 3 yard or less gains (54.2%)

South Florida
30 Rushing Attempts by RBs
15 ended up as 3 yard or less gains (50%)

Florida
42 Rushing Attempts by RBs
20 ended up as 3 yard or less gains (47.6%)

Florida State
27 Rushing Attempts by RBs
17 ended up as 3 yard or less gains (62.9%)

Louisville
16 Rushing Attempts by RBs
12 ended up as 3 yard or less gains (75%)

Stanford
42 Rushing Attempts by RBs
18 ended up as 3 yard or less gains (42.8%)

Southern Methodist
32 Rushing Attempts by RBs
16 ended up as 3 yard or less gains (50%)

TOTAL
224 Rushing Attempts by RBs
117 ended up as 3 yards or less gains (52.2%)

less than 3 yards might be fine on first down but not when it fails to get a critical fourth. I am almost starting to wonder if a smart person can dissect numbers to answer the analytics issue that has eliiminated field goals on an increasing number of fourth downs, resulting in no points versus 3 points.

It's not fine, because the whole purpose of this run scheme is to shorten the down and distance on 2nd/3rd downs. 2nd and 7+ is not ideal for a team that lacks explosives.

Woody Hayes would be proud.

Have been saying it from ND game but many loved that tush push bull****, the success of short yardage with Cam being himself a restraint play for defenses last year has now become a curse because now we our entire philosophy is to play for 3rd and short. Cam was "efficient" where even when we got penalties our team could still thrive but have said it from rooftop and was shouted down because of koolaid consumption but Mario teams dont play clean enough to play that style, you need to play perfect to play 3 yard and cloud of dust. Its a losing strategy,

Mario is playing for time of possession, 9 drive games and we false start every other drive. You feel like you are dominating game with possession and yards but look at score after throwing pick to UF and its 3rd qtr, and score is 13-7 with them having ball. Samething happened SMU and you listen to Lashlee poistgame and he said he was just hoping to get to second half with it being one score game and our philosophy allows teams to stay in games and build confidence. Its another reason I am confused at the love Marty brown gets, dude gets 3 yards avg. People hated Martinez last year for doin more in beginning of season lol. Bizarre

Arians talks about it in first 3 minutes of video below:
