These are the kinds of kids I want

Not "my customer" regardless, bud, I don't have a stake in The Athletic.

I too used to believe I'd never pay for any online content. My favorite CFB writer (Stewart Mandel) went to The Athletic so I decided to try it out with a free 30 day subscription they offered last Fall. It is IMO the best sports site out there, bar none. Has been worth every penny to me. Phenomenal articles by an absolutely incredible group of writers that seems to grow every month. Their coverage of everything is so well done and often goes outside the lines of just the same stories you see elsewhere. Also, since they don't get paid by views, there is no clickbait. Also no ads. They got Manny over there as a full time Canes beat writer. Though, honestly, even though I always like Manny's pieces there, I don't have it because of Canes coverage; I follow our Caens obsessively enough that I get all that info and more elsewhere. I just love their coverage of all of CFB, NFL, soccer and NBA. Plus they have somehow managed to create a culture of commentators that is really intelligent and unlike anywhere else on the internet it has remained civil.

The Athletic is the sh-t, man. I was skeptical too, but it's blown me away. I've even bought subscriptions for a few friends and family members as gifts.

To each their own.

I just want to keep the best players in our back yard

I just want coaches who will get these players
I hear ya, and obviously that's what we've always done when we were good. I'm not by any means saying I think we should abandon trying to lock down the State of Miami again. And it wasn't a comment related to where they come from region-wise. But after what occurred this year in our locker room, and watching supposed superstars from SoFla cry on social media that they aren't eating enough after our team plays well for the first time in a month and breaks a 4 game losing streak, it's made me realize how badly I want to see us land kids with mindsets like Duke Johnson, Bandy, Jaquan, Shaq, DeeJay, Brax, etc, and not kids like that. This Blissett kid seems to be exactly in that mold.

This is what I wonder. I would assume guys who are me guys or bad locker rooms were that way before they got to the u. I.e Thomas had a history of walking out on his teAm. So basically the coaches should have known this about the players there is no way a coach who does his diligence about a recruit doesn’t know these things. So our coaches should have known they were recruiting big egos so it should fall on them to either not recruit these guys or to keep them in line. It’s one of the reaso we give the coaches the big money.

Unless you are Mork from Ork it doesn't matter what you want....total pipe dream. You guys are setting yourselves up for a big fall. DON'T DO IT!

We have no idea how many Thomas types these coaches do keep in line. There are a lot of great kids on this team but I’m also pretty sure we have our share, just like other schools do, of kids who are difficult.

One example of a kid taking off is a pretty small percentage.

My favorite sports writer became an agent.

It was a somewhat ungrateful move since D$ found him in the wilds past Krome Ave living amongst a tribe of stink apes and taught him the business. Even after D$ groomed him up he retained one strip of fur where human eye brows would be as a tribute to his ape troop origins.
