If that happened lane should actually fear for his life. Would never step foot in Mississippi again if I were him. With Lane gone, compare our metrics to Ole Miss. We are better even with the additional loss. Committee can get Miami in and keep ND in and just leave Ole Miss out. Would make Kiffin a tremendous villain. Also means Bama and UGA are in. Would just need TT to beat BYU to assure them their dream scenario. Ole Miss without Lane is NOT a draw.
Food for thought for the idiots in the back rooms. But really, we should be in over ND. That’s it. Period. H2H with same metrics. Goodnight ND
It should happen. Head coach and nine staffers (so far) are gone. It's not the same team.If that happened lane should actually fear for his life
Ok. Anywhoozles have a great week!!The committee never said that
And anyone else with a reasonable sense of fairness. I agree idle teams shouldn’t get a pass. It is also the downside of overloading the rankings with teams from the same conference. Why would the 10th ranked team want to play the 3rd ranked team, when losing means the 11th ranked team, whose at home watching, gets in to the playoff?
This isn’t my opinion btw, this is what the committee has said. Greg Sankey too.
This is exactly what is going to happen! Here's what I'm afraid they will do: Drop Ole Miss to 10. Move up Bama a couple of spots so if they lose Conference Championship game they will stay top 10 and that allows Ole Miss and Bama to stay in.
but did any team miss the playoff that was previously in?
Although each would have 3 losses, the CFP has said they would not penalize conference game runner ups
I recall last year, the CFP D!ckhead saying that any team already slotted for playoffs, would not drop out after a loss in conference championship games.but did any team miss the playoff that was previously in?
They can’t make the SEC championship game a punishment.
but the media said so lolYes they can.
Last year, the SEC whined when they "only" got 3 teams in. This year, if Alabama gets bumped, they will have FOUR teams in, UGa, Ole Miss, aTm, and Oklahoma.
Arguing for five or six? And acting like they will bolt if that doesn't happen? Yeah, that argument will not carry water.
Everyone if focusing (too narrowly) on Alabama. The reality is, if the SEC has "more teams than last year", that is sufficient. And they have FOUR, not counting Alabama. The SEC would still, quite literally, have 1/3 of all the slots, even without Alabama.
Big picture, people. Big picture.
I recall last year, the CFP D!ckhead saying that any team already slotted for playoffs, would not drop out after a loss in conference championship games.
No. It’s too profitable. They aren’t penalizing a team for participating.
How many spots did SMU drop last year after ACC title game loss?
there has never not been a penaltyLAST YEAR. Because they already knew the math.
Last year, the LOWEST RANKED team in the Top 12 who played in a conference championship game was SMU at #8 (pre-ACC-CG).
THIS YEAR, the LOWEST RANKED teams in the Top 12 who will be playing in a conference championship game will be Alabama at (likely) #10 and BYU at (likely) #11.
There HAS TO BE a penalty for losing a game. It's a requirement, even if it's just one spot. And Alabama and BYU are ON THE BUBBLE. They are not locked into at-large spots the same way that SMU was.
