There's a Path

The Curveball is Lane leaving for LSU. If he guts the staff as being reported you have an FSU situation all over again.

i don't think so. People saw what FSU was without Jordan Travis during the regular season. This is why they dropped out of the CFP (another CFP blemish). It would be speculation that Ole Miss is going to crumble if Lane and staff are truly leaving now

BYU likely isn’t the problem. We jump them this week or they lose again to Texas Tech. Believe the issue is we need to move up another spot & chances aren’t good. Committee is not dropping Bama unless they get annihilated in SEC title game & committee has made clear a thousand different ways that they prefer ND to us. We’re better than Oklahoma, but committee won’t make that drastic a move.
So, what are some other scenarios?

9-3 bama, losing in sec championship game and which got its *** kicked by the worst team in America? I don’t know. Committee wants to focus on good losses. The FSU game is a horrendous loss. That with a 9-3 record should move them down.

If the committee wanted to make things easy for themselves, you move us ahead of bama and BYU. Then make them both win their CG to get in. Then they can claimed they're unbiased.

Through this scenario they get what they want depending on outcomes. Don't have to worry about CG impact to keeping someone out.

We probably still wouldn't make it in, but they may be able to get everything they've been trying to achieve while meeting their previously defined criteria from prior years
This is the scenario that i've been hoping would play out for weeks. If tuesday night the committee makes this decision they don't have to contradict themselves at the end of it all.

Totally agree . . . but committee unlikely to punish team for losing its conference championship game, unless horrible blowout & don’t see Bama getting blown out. It’s also clear committee tends to dismiss early season loses based on our situation with ND. Ah, weren’t ready to play in road game & then powered thru rest of schedule.

they punished every team last year

There will be **** to pay if Bama is dropped. Not a Bama fan, but then why even play in conference championship game if risk getting penalized?
Tend to believe Tuesday’s rankings or whatever will tell us if we have any hope.

same team that got the shlt beat in by FSU

All of the following would have to happen:

- Miami and BYU swap spots on Tuesday night and BYU loses to Texas Tech next weekend.

- OU and ND hold at 8 and 9. OU did not win convincingly against LSU but their best win (Bama) is playing for the SEC Championship. ND's 'best loss' just lost to Texas and will not be playing for the SEC title.

- UVA beats Duke and we avoid the doomsday/2 G5 teams in the playoffs scenario.

- UGA HAS to beat Alabama and likely convincingly.
so what would the 12 be? in order ?

so Bama if still #10 will be the 1st to not drop a spot?
so we will punish you but only if not on bubble?

lets see it
I just think the bama bias is too strong. If this was miamis results the past couple weeks and then they got beat in the CCG they probably get dropped out completely and they wouldn't pass the "eye test"
