Mark should try and help his son to get a job a division 2 school. How do you hire your son to coach at a major division 1 program with no experience! He would never have gotten away with hiring his kid at UGA. James your a ******.
 
Nothing happens until the Turds tear us a new one to open another mediocre season. Then things will become so toxic that Richt will retire at the end of another .500 or worse season. If Manny stays, he takes over and appoints his own OC. If he leaves, God help us because the numbnuts that run this school and its athletic programs couldn't pick a winner if their lives depended on it.(Wouldn't put it past them to rehire Nofrio.) Maybe someone like Coach L falls in their laps and solves this mess, but there is only a minuscule chance of that happening..

Richt has the full trust of the administration and he made a real point of how he regretted giving up play calling at UGA when he was there. He's not going to give that up at Miami quickly or easily. Also think bringing in a OC/playcaller would mean a complete overhaul of the offensive staff. Brown and Dugans currently have Co-OC titles and likely wouldn't take demotions to just RB coach and WR coach. So bringing in a dedicated OC/Playcaller would likely mean Brown, Dugans and Jon Richt are gone as well as CMR giving up play calling. Just doesn't seem likely. Only changes will come if current coaches get hired away by other schools, like possibly Searles or god forbid Manny gets hired away somewhere.

What has Mark Richt said that would lead you to believe otherwise? Richt has blamed poor player execution on the reason for the offense. He sincerely believes that his plays would work if the players executed correctly. Perry came out and said he wasn't studying film before. He essentially gave Richt some more ammo.

I have come around on OP’s thinking.

A major selling point for Richt coming here was being able to call plays again and run the offense. He’s not going to give that up. He’d just as soon retire.

I think he stays on as playcaller and is forced out next season after another 7-8 win campaign.

Ego. Richt wants to prove to the entire CFB world that his way, his football philosophies will work. Making sweeping changes would be an admission of failure, which he is too proud to do.

I can honestly say that I have zero remorse for the ugliness that will be inflicted upon Richt next season if he doesn't get his head out of his a&& and listen to the unanimous feedback that is consistent -- his Offense is hot garbage. If he decides to continue course next season with no changes, then he is a complete idiot and deserves his fate.

Richt not hiring an OC is the equivalent of Clemson 58-0. Good ****
 
Blake James is an idiot for signing Richt to a extension and giving him control. Richt has us by the balls, and James knows it. If James does not fire him Richt will not change a thing because he knows they won't fire him.

Except, what are the odds that Blake James, the beta of betas, actually holds him to that level of accountability? In the scenario where Richt makes no changes this year and it doesn't work, the most likely outcome isn't Richt getting fired, but Richt making some changes a year from now thus buying himself additional year(s). I have no faith in Blake or our administration.
 
Soooo, homeboy mark is going to choose falling on his sword and actually ending his career in embarrassing fashion by getting fired and ran out of town by his alma mater???? OVER, hiring a good high octane OC, to go along with his #2 Defense, and make it to the ACCCG every year he has left, with a couple chances at going through to the playoffs... adding to his high W/L % and going out on paper as a great CFB coach????

just has me numb and smh....
