Mario and staff have to do a better job of preparing for and executing against teams like a 3-8 VT team

If we play like this next week…it’s gonna be ugly against Pitt

Hopefully Mario and staff prepare, show up fired up and execute next week

The game today was horrific

Big passing numbers for Beck
Big game for Toney

The negatives are obvious

I disagree, basically the defense gave up 10 points and the last seven came late in the game.

It comes down to what we have all said is situational football. Mario has a tendency to get a lead and play ultra conservative. Why are we snapping the ball with three seconds left?

It was by far the worst, nothing even comes close.
Buckled down plenty, and had some big moments, but gave up more chunk plays today on the ground than we had all season combined. No defense is going to play lights out for 12 games, even the great ones so whatever. For this to come game 11, I’ll take it. We need them back to their mean next week though.

Beck's playing himself into the 2nd - 3rd, round.
 
Not at all.

This game was meaningless.

Once we lost to Louisville, the only games that mattered left on the schedule was SMU & Pitt.

The committee isn't going to keep us out of the playoffs because of a 3-7 VA Tech team with an interim Head Coach.

We beat Pitt & we're in.

Worst tackling performance by far. Very little gang tackling or hustling to the ball. Total opposite of what we saw last week. Did stop VT on 4th down on a couple critical drives. 17 points doesn't look that bad on paper, but feels like VT could have scored 30+ on us.

Of course, there were a couple drives that we dominated VT for the majority of the drive, but allowed them to continue the drive with dumb *** penalties or a missed tackle. Not going to beat Pitt if defense plays like that again.

VT isn't a bad football team and they match up against us very well. Still most of our team dragged as today with a bunch of dumb mistakes. A 44-10 type of win turned into a 34-17 win
 
If we would actually try to score some **** points then games would look more like how they played out on the field. Bad calls, zero discipline and we beat the **** out of them. Game was never competitive at any point.
Before those last few min they basically didn’t have any pass yards all game so the rush stats are overblown
