It was the best this []_[] could have ever heard about that NCAA mess. A screwed up investigation allowed the UM team to suffer no additional sanctions, except for a couple of 2-3 star player schollies per year for 3 yrs, and the negative recruiting that was done against UM had no more "uncertain" targets to preach to prospective UM recruits. Of course, when recruits wanted specifics how much more punishment UM would receive, the UM HC & UM recruiters couldn't offer anything with any degree of specificity. Unfortunately enough, recruits after opting for another team, would say something as "I feel like I can trust Coach [not Golden], and that's it for me, trust". Yeah, that trust thing...we lost a few ballers for rival teams selling distrust was on par with UM brand.
But then the cloud was lifted! Golden would speak endlessly how he could breath now, KNOWING what's in front of him, not having to wonder any further!
...and waiting for us, after that cloud cleared up, was Winston & the noles.
From that point on, after being undefeated at 7-0, UM and Golden finish the year out with a record of 2-4 record.
For the following Football season, after taking out D2a FAMU, SunBelt Cincinnati (they got beat by Appalachian State) and MAC's Arkansas State,
Golden total record, since the cloud was lifted, went 5-10 when playing the usual major conference teams, yeah fam, 5-10! R we trending up?
