Showing number of 4 star HS recruits on each team. IIRC, they had around 16, we had over 40.
Basically, showing in terms of raw talent coming in, we have more. Yet, for a number of reasons, bad no calls, etc, we got beat.
IOW, we are losing to less talented teams.
That's worrisome.

did you see the graphic about 5 minutes after that with the Top 3 players on our offense being out?

i think so.... its definitely not the only reason, but it certianly plays a part... I think Homer did very good in filling in for Walton and we certianly have WR depth -- but having no TE really allows a Defense, especially this caliber of a defense, to change how they cover and when they can blitz.

Richards is a bonafide talent -- him not being on the field sucks --- but sucks in a way that every team deals with injury kind of way -- pretty sure whisky was also missing a good WR

But we need depth to beat teams like that.

I realize we don't have as many players depth wise, but the fact remains we lost to a team with less talent overall...if star ratings are to believed.
I saw us outschemed on both sides of ball last night. That's how talent imbalance seemed to be neutralized.

Lol they layed that up on a silver platter and you and others ate it up. It’s almost like you arent a fan and haven’t watched this team the last
4 years. You know how many of those ESPN 4* (would like to see the composit #s ) are Jags and bust that didn’t get proper coaching? Here is a great example in case you haven’t watched this team the last 4 years. KC McDermot and Trevor Darling are they 4*s today? No they aren’t they are jag Oline. After 2 years in college your star rating based on your HS perform is old news. You are either an All American, All conference player or a JAG.

They should have shown a comparison of how many All-Conference players were on each team that would have been more telling.

That left us less talented as a team vs Wisky? 3 guys out?

Context matters. It's our top three offensive players.

Sure, there is a drop off with those 3 replacements, but then how does one explain their brigade of 1-2 stars lighting us up all over the field?

I'm not sure that "lighting us up" all over the field is an honest assessment of the want happened in the game.
They were a tight game away from being in the playoffs. A tight game against OSU. They are not scub mediocre team.
There was a reason they were favored.

Joe Z made great point on the post-game that we have to get guys to stay to build some depth and maturity. As it is we get "younger" every year and many other teams get "older".
I forgot who it was, but in one of the bowls one team had at least five five year seniors starting. We'll never have that, but we need some time to build true depth.

Stop acting as like our top 3 players got hurt right before the game. Walton has played since freaking Florida state. No one complained about homer showing out Georgia tech, Virginia Tech and ND. Richards has been hurt ALL FREAKING YEAR. And Herndon for over a month. Let's keep making excuses about how we weren't prepared 3 meaningful games in a row.

So by your reckoning, we lost to a more talented team - Wisky - than us last night.
Ok.

I saw the graphic and I laughed. We may have more talent at the skill positions, but they have more seasoned (albeit lesser starred) talent where it counts.....the offensive line. Linemen usually don't garner the high star ratings that other skill positions do. Our offensive line lacks something intangible and it''s been that way for a long time. We tend to move our linemen around to fill areas of need because we lack depth to let them stay at their best position. Look at Tyler Gauthier. He''s serviceable as a center, but that''s not his natural position coming out of high school. At Venice High he was a beast. We couldn't leave him where he belongs because he was needed to fill a vacancy at center. There should have been at least one, maybe two, cetera ready to move up......but there wasn't.

This year''s team was the penultimate over achiever. You can say anything you want to whine about the season, but you would have to be absolutely blind to not see the glaring deficiencies in our personnel. Richt should play the incoming recruits as often as he can next season. They need to get experience at the D1 level in order for us to start establishing the depth we need.

Great season......but do not be blinded.....it was better maybe than it should have been given our glaring personnel deficiencies.

We should've won that game and we **** the bed. Rosier career here is over. Along with McDoormat and Badley.

No, gaki never makes a great point.
