Cover 3 podcast said we might not move up at all. Said Texas won’t drop far (I disagree), and that the point gap between Miami, Vandy, and GT was so large that it would take too many voters to ding GT for a bad win (and Vandy for not playing).I think miami finds itself in the top 10 this week in the CFP.
the committee doesn't need to go in order each week. they can rank it however they want.
it’s wild af to see all the teams they jumped. After Week 10, they were 6-2 and ranked 24th in both the AP and coaches polls. XII favoritism with Baylor’s AD running the ship boosted them; and now they have their own ****** AD in the room.Utah loses at home by 24 points and is still a better 2-loss team over 2-loss (combined 9 points) Miami?
I know they smacked bad Colorado and Baylor teams, but Miami smacked bad Syracuse and NC State.
I know they beat ranked Cincinnati, but Miami beat Notre Dame.
Makes no sense.
the issue is the point gaps dont matter. David lake said it best - this is all for tv. the committee is going to put its preferred 12 teams in no matter what and they consider miami that based on comments. the rankings each week are just for tv bs. they can come out tomorrow and flip the rankings in reverse from 25 being the new 1 and 1 being the new 25 and it wouldn't matter at the end.Cover 3 podcast said we might not move up at all. Hopefully they continue to correct for that original 18 ranking because we didn’t get a great week chaos-wise. It’s not over yet, but we are running out of time to close the gap.
There is no justification for Notre Dame to be in front of Miami.Miami is on the outside looking in. SEC is getting 5 teams in.
BIG has two locked in.
TT locked in.
Utah or BYU have another.
Then you have ACC champion and ND.
Last spot likely goes to Oregon.
Miami needs a lot of help along with wining out convincingly. That SMU loss was awful
This sis the problem with having so many teams in conferences. A handful of teams will get the scheduling perk of playing the bottom half of the league. Should we have handled our business. Yes!! But it has created scenarios where teams get to skate by not playing any of the better teams in their conference.Just so demoralizing we are in the position yet again. No one in the ACC has a roster even close to as talented as ours. We are going to be the highest ranked team in the conference and may not even be in the ACC CG.
It’s actually amazing how many close games went the wrong way for us yesterday. A&M, ole miss, GT were all losing in the 4th quarter. Same for two teams breathing down our neck behind us in USC and Michigan. And USF losing moves them out of the field.
