Everyone seems confident Miami wins next two games. I am not confident that happens and even if they do I dont think committee is putting two acc teams into playoffs. Probably looking at gator bowl or everyone's favorite sun bowl

If it was between Louisville or UVA as the second team to us I’d agree. But Miami is still clearly a ratings power. They would rather us play TT than a game vs Utah.

Wrong. If it is truly down to Miami vs ND, then the head to head win is the tie breaker.

They play 5-5 Kansas State and 5-5 Kansas. If they win both and finish 10-2 and don’t make the Big 12 championship, does Miami beating VT and Pitt really jump us over them? Remember Pitt got rocked today and plays GT next week. Does us beating a 7-4 Pitt jump us over Utah while they beat a 5-6 Kansas on the final week?

I could see us jumping Vandy. Long view is something has to happen with those three Big 12 teams. TT, BYU, Utah. Odds are a combo of those three will play. TT wins that’ll remove one of them from the equation.

If we jump Vandy and that happens it leaves 2 spots for 4 teams. Odds are we’d be first out. That’s where I’m ending unless Mizzou or Auburn does the unthinkable.

We have the head to head win and even our win against NC State (common opponent) is better.

We are going to jump 3 spots, from 15 to 12, passing Utah and Vandy, because we beat a 5-5 NC State? From your lips to gods ears but, nah. Definitely not Utah. They blew out a 5-5 team today too and were 2 spots ahead of us. How do you justify us leaping them? Vandy…maybe. But if they beat an 8-3 Tennessee team ranked in the top ~17 or so they’re just gonna jump us right back.

We need these teams to lose. Vandy, Utah, probably Bama or OU too.

I was just more making a statement that if the committee is basing their decision on ratings, they’d crowbar us in over Utah.

Utah hasn’t beaten anyone. Their resume isn’t good. They have two “better” losses but I’d argue we have two easily better wins than they do. One over a probable CFP participant. Maybe two, idk how the G5 thing will shake out.

But if they are going to put a team who has beaten a CFP participant at home out in favor of a team who lost to a CFP participant at home with their back up QB, I’m done watching CFB.

Honestly, yes. I think Miami has a good chance of jumping Utah when you compare overall resume between the two. Especially if Pitt beats Ga Tech and finds themselves ranked again.

We ain't jumping Utah. We should be ahead of them regardless. But we ain't jumping them after they just put 55 on Baylor on the road.

The sneaky worst result of the day was South Florida losing to Navy. They were headed for a playoff appearance, which would have made it very hard to leave us out. Now Notre Dame has more of a leg to stand on.

We really really needed Oklahoma to lose.

The reality is, even if we win out we are going to be left out. But, we still can play a “decent “ bowl and finish 11-2. That would be a nice improvement for year 4. Most would view that as an excellent progress in this rebuild.

Correct I don't think we are ahead of them Tuesday. But I think if we both finish 10-2, Miami will move ahead. I wouldn't be shocked if Miami is one spot behind Utah Tuesday. Utah doesn't have a win like Notre Dame on their schedule
