MEGA There’s Still Hope for the ACCCG/CFB Playoffs Mega Merge Thread

We absolutely need the gator to win tonight, as nauseating as that sounds.

We NEED Pitt to beat GT. I don't see a path if Pitt loses next week.

  1. Beats Virginia Tech and Pitt
  2. Virginia beats Virginia Tech
  3. Pitt beats Georgia Tech, Duke beats North Carolina, SMU beats Louisville
  4. Cal beats SMU, Wake Forest beats Duke
In this scenario, Virginia (7-1 in ACC) and Miami (6-2) go to Charlotte with four-way tiebreaker advantages over Georgia Tech/Pitt/SMU.

Can’t overstate how massive these 2nd halves are for our playoff chances.

Obviously, but if somehow UiF and UGA can get this done, we are getting close to a win and in situation.

We were +400 to make the playoffs this morning. If UGA and UiF win, that might be +200?

We REALLY needed OU to lose but we are still very much in this thing is Ole Miss and Texas go down.

Ole Miss could lose
Bama could have 3 loses
Still a lot of football

Just win
There's already talk of Texas getting in with 3 loses if they lose to UGA, but beat A&M next week.

If it comes down to us, as the second ACC team, vs ND, Alabama or Texas for the final spot.. we're toast. There's no way the committee is leaving those 3 teams out in favor of UM regardless of what we do on the field.

Talk talk
Miami will get in over Texas with 1 less loss and beating common opponent
I get CNN er ESPN is out talking now

Only focus on what we can control. All these “if” threads r useless. Win out & let the chips fall where they may. We shouldn’t be in this position in the first place, but focusing on all these other teams only creates more frustrations. Just win out, & win out in fashion like the BCS days.

Unfortunately, our dreams probably died when GT came back to beat BC and Oklahoma beat Alabama. Those two really hurt us.

If we win out and look like we did today in the process, we'll easily jump both Utah and Vandy. Neither team has a top 25 win, unless they somehow get Missouri in. We'd still have a win over a top 10 ND team.

From there, even if Texas lose to UGA and BYU loses to (take your pick), that only gets us up to #11.

Since the ACCCG and group of 5 winners both get auto bids, we'd be the first team out.

There's a very real chance it comes to us vs ND for the final spot, and I think we all know they'll pick ND.
No.

Upsets happen every week. It isn't just Miami that loses. There is 2 weeks left and chaos will happen.

If Ole Miss loses, we are right in the same boat and we have the win over the common opponent. We will be there at the end if we win out.

If Bama wins there last 2 games they will play in the SEC championship. If they lose to A&M they shouldn’t be in. Miami & Bama both played f$u but we beat them as a common opponent. I know they will still ***** us in the end though

These ESPN graphics on playoff chances are baffling. They showed one during the UM game that said UM has like a 16% chance to make the playoff with a WIN. And in this Texas/Georgia game, it said UT has a 27% chance with a LOSS. So let me get this straight—a 7-3 Texas with A&M left on the schedule is twice as likely to make the playoff as an 8-2 Miami?
I think it’s because even with a loss they can sneak into the SECCG. Their path might be easier to their championship game than ours.
