5 teams ranked in the AP poll. Pitt #24, SMU #25. Wake 37th in the AP Poll.

Wake Forest couldn’t even get a single receiving vote in the coaches poll despite beating SMU & UVA; cold world lol. Coaches poll has Pitt and SMU 24th and 25th as well.

UVA 17th in both polls. GT 19th in the coaches poll but 23rd in the AP poll.

Looking likely to be 5 ranked teams for the rivalry week.
 
So I haven’t read all the posts from the last twenty four hours so someone may have figured this out already.

But if that website where you can plug the different scenarios in is correct, it seems like all we need is Wake to beat Duke and NC State to beat UNC. I’m not finding a scenario where those two happen and we win that doesn’t put us in the top two. Am I missing something?

yes. For instance if regular season ends as follows:

Bama #10
BYU #11
Miami #12

If Bama loses SEC championship badly and BYU loses to Texas Tech in their conference championship, it is not out of the realm of possibilities that Miami slides into tenth.

Considering SMU and UVA each have one conference loss, one of them has to lose for us to have any shot.
 
Someone please correct me if I’ve misinterpreted all the posts and prognostications from the last 24 hours, but as I understand it:

ACCCG
- We must beat Pitt
2 of the following 3 must happen
- Cal beats SMU
- VTech beats UVA
- Wake beats Duke

At large bid
- We must beat Pitt and earn some style points and hope we get picked by the committee. Teams ahead of us sh|tt|ing the bed would help here too.
 
Yes we are rooting for Wake, VT and Cal.

But I don’t think enough people are talking about this - Here’s our most direct and likely path - we’re almost assuredly in over Duke in this scenario. Sport Source is all encompassing data, not solely conference-related. We want NC State to win because of H2H conference opponent winning %.

VT win and we’re very alive.

Scenarios and probability estimates. 1. SMU wins, Duke and UVA lose 40%, 2. Duke wins, SMU and UVA lose, 20%, 3. UVA wins, Duke and SMU lose with additional upsets 15%, 4. All three lose complicated tiebreaker rules 10%
 
1.Beat Pitt,
2. BYU loses in B12 Champ game
3. Vandy L agaisnt Tenn
4. Bama L SEC champ game or iron bowl
