MEGA There’s Still Hope for the ACCCG/CFB Playoffs Mega Merge Thread

Why?
What are the headlines saying?
I don’t think they’re being ridiculed. I think they’re being applauded for winning.

I don’t agree with it, but I’m not seeing anything that’s saying they need to fall.
Utah is perceived as a darling, not as a team anyone is taking seriously as a threat. Their run this season and a close come from behind win tonight at home is part of what makes college football fun. But that’s as far as it goes.

They don’t have the same expectations as Miami, whose talent noticeably dwarves Utah’s. If Miami and Utah win next week, the Utes will likely not win a debate where the committee is asked which is the better team with a better shot to beat playoff teams.

I think the committee pushed us up 5 spots just for beating Syracuse and NC State. The Notre Dame think is annoying but they're not favoring anybody else over us.
They didn’t push us up teams lost as well. They had no choice.
I would like to think they won’t favor other teams over Miami, but all of the great 8 will be favored over Miami
If USC would’ve won today, they would be passing us on Tuesday

I agree with you 100%
Do I trust the committee to make that choice? No

Maybe ESPN has sway and they want Miami in for television ratings and better match up. I will agree with that.

I guess the real question now is what if BYU ends up winning tonight and they win next week they go to the big 12 championship and lose to Texas Tech again if Miami was sitting at 12 or 11 with the committee put Miami in and penalize BYU for losing a championship game to a very strong Texas Tech team?

This is incorrect.

GT won and we jumped them. Vandy had a bye and we jumped them.

My concern with what the committee will do isn’t Utah or Vandy.

The trust issue comes down to Miami and Notre Dame if Oklahoma or Bama each win out.

It’s not a foregone conclusion like some think that ND would get picked over Miami but that doesn’t mean I “trust” the committee either in that scenario.

I feel pretty good though about Auburn at home putting the final nail in an overrated Bama. It’ll be Aub’s national championship.

Virginia Tech is Georgia Tech Great Value. For some reason those style of teams give us issues. They both have big physical QBs who are better runners than passers. They both have strong running games and a staple of good RBs. Their OLs are big/strong run blockers who can't pass block. We never really had any issues Today but a game they should have been 41-10 or so ended up being 34-17.

Ole Miss 100% on upset alert with all the bs going on

If they lose in the egg bowl (bad loss which is apparently the most important metric) are they out ?

Narduzzi has a rope in his pocket and he was about to choke on it until King cut it with that pick 6.

They should be but it’s a big fall for Miami to pass them. They might get punished too if Kiffin leaves. My guess is Miami passes them, especially if another team loses that’s in front of Miami.

Miss St would be a respectable 6-6 (with multiple ranked wins), rivalry game, on the road. Ole Miss is already locked in.
