The younger brother of Dalvin Cook, James Cook, is going to be a freshman this year at Miami Central high school. Cook is already 5-foot-10 and 180-pounds, bigger than his older brother was as a ninth grader.

Cook has already seen early success and recognition on the youth level. He was one of five players nominated for the 2014 General Dennis D. Cavin Youth Player of the Year Award, given to the top youth player in the country. He was also named MVP of the Future Stars game held at IMG Academy last summer.

“I’m a running back,” Cook told Noles247 at the IMG 7on7. “Dalvin is fast, but I got speed and power.”

Cook is proud of his older brother and thinks more success is on the way.

“It’s fun to watch him. I think he’s going to win the Heisman this year and then leave for the league early (in two years).”

Even with the success of his brother, James Cook is only a Florida State fan once a year.

“I’m a Miami fan. That’s my hometown, I root for the ‘Canes…except when they play FSU. I gotta root for Florida State,” Cook said.

As Dalvin Cook looks to take his career to the next level, James Cook is just excited to get his started.

“I like playing running back. I’ll probably do that unless I get taller. If I get to be 6-foot or taller I might play corner.”

Here’s a look at Cook’s full youth highlight

LMAO, zero fuggs awarded about freshman in high school. This is the problem with recruiting. These kids start getting attention from grown ups when they are 13-14 years of age.

Miami fan but roots for Florida State when they play. Makes sense.

If my brother played for FSU I'd root for them too cant hate on the kid for that...if he's that good I hope we get him.

So you expect him to root against his brother?.... He is going to go to miami. He said his brother is leaving after next season which is great for us...

wouldn't say he's going to Miami, but him being a fan gives us a chance.

Miami is his dream school. This always works out for us. No worries

Hopefully he knows how to protect the ball better than Dalvin haha! Pure enjoyment watching him fumble the semi finals game away!

Can't leave college after 2 seasons.

Well for me it's already the start of season 2. We are already done with spring football and less than 5 months away

I think if he would have been able to play with Dalvin he'd be 100% FSU. But since he's only a freshman we have a chance

More than a chance on this one. Remember their whole family were ️Cane fans growing up including Dalvin.... However at the time he made what he felt was the best decision for him

no one was getting both of them. Best thing to ever happen to FSU was that they got rid of that coffee drinking chico and as a result his Yearby ties followed him out the door and FSU had a clean slate to be able to swoop in and get Dalvin, while Miami was saddled with and subpar OC.

Wonder how much of a wrench will be thrown into his recruitment later on considering DeAndre just transferred.
