The Work - December 7th visits

Gotta wonder about Powell. The kid wants to be a RB, doesn't want to play slot. How much future is there forf a 170 lb RB? How big can he get? 180, 190? I dunno. I don't follow the pros at all anymore. Are there 170-180 lb RBs making it in the league?

I think of kids we had like Leonard Conley and Alex Johnson. They were good, but limited. They were so small. I know Kehoe told a friend back in the day that Conley was so small that they worried about him protecting the ball.

How big is Yearby?

This supports what Pete is saying....

You guys are looking at this the wrong way. I came on board late last week... said Ohio State was team to beat going into weekend. Whether you want to believe that or not I am very confident it was the Bucks. But he visits MIA and cancels his announcement. I think this bodes well for MIA. i honestly don't know what he will do now. I think he's torn plus wants to focus on state title. We will see what happens.

I retweeted a Dan LeBatard tweet earlier today about Miami having Clinton Portis, Frank Gore, and Willis McGahee in the backfield together and Cook's mom just retweeted my retweet

is cook's mom twitter a real one? there's so many fake accounts these days

I think we actually had Najeh Davenport in that mix as well. As I remember, Najeh was the fullback on the 2001 team, with Gore as the RB, backed up by McGahee and Gore. I think Najeh was hurt for the Rose Bowl and McGahee played fullback, blocking for Portis. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Davenport was every bit the blue chip RB the year he came out of Central. I don't know how good he would have been had he not injured his knee.

was just going to say this. I hate that people leave Najeh out he was on the team in 2001 also, and could have been a beast RB for a lot of teams that year but sacrificed for the good of the team and played FB.

You're correct.

Davenport's knee injury against OSU opened the door for Portis in 99. It took a while for him to come along.....I believe he (Portis) didn't start logging major minutes until midway through the season.

Pete, would you say that there's a

A. 0-25% chance we get Dixon
B. 26-50% chance we get Dixon
C. 51-75% chance we get Dixon
D. 76-100% chance we get Dixon

Thanx.

He doesn't know. Dixon might not know the answer to that.

If we get Cook I am going to yell and scream like I did when we got LeBron

I know Lane has repetitively said that he wants to play with Cook. However, earlier in the recruiting process didn't lane and brady say that they wanted to play with each other? If true does Brady help us at all with lane?

Lane an brady have known each other since optomist football. He's closer to brady than cook.

Seems like we have a great chance to land all these guys. If we land Cook, the dominos will fall.

Golden, Coley, and Hurlie Brown need to get in to Powell's living room with him ASAP to clear this up because we NEED him in this class. This kid is an absolute playmaker I don't give a **** where he plays right now position-wise, but this kid HAS GOT to be part of this class. Please fix this situation Golden.

I really think Brandon Powell's best place is at UM with Yearbt and Cook. Powell will be able to redshirt and get some size. He's in the rotation by his redshirt sophomore year. At Tennessee they'll overuse him too early IMO. They're very thin at RB.
