The Work 8-5

--Something that I found interesting from yesterday’s interviews is that Mark D’Onofrio is standing by his “bend, don’t break” philosophy. D’Onofrio says that while the he would like to improve total defense (ranked 116th out of 120 last season), he wants to focus on the scoring defense. I’ll be interested to see how that plays out because that mindset hasn’t been successful the first two years. There are bigger, faster, stronger players in place this year, but I believe D’Onofrio will need to be more aggressive.

I do not like this... We now have many horses in place. We need to man up and play defense. After a couple games, if you realize you don't have the pieces you take that approach.. BUT, to have that mentality coming out of the gates is not good.

its too early to be making those assessments in my opinion. Let's get the defense thru camp first.

who da fug is sony?

There was rumblings about a possible story breaking on UGA and illegal recruiting tactics which directly involved Sony amongst others. I am not sure if the poster was trolling or legit; maybe someone else on the board has more insight.

UGA resides under the shelter of the Southeastern Conference. Of course he was just a troll...move along...nothing to see.

Sony is dead.

Pete:
When you mention flipping running backs, you always mention the possibility of Cook flipping but never Sony. Any insight on Sony?

Unless he flips. Then, of course, he's an elite RB all Canes fans love.

Amiright?

That sounds correct.

It's a double standard. Can't explain it. You just have to expect it because this is a Cane board NOT an SEC school board.

It's all about The U. The rest of the schools can go fuuck themselves.

Coach D sounds like he's taking the same approach that Oklahoma st. did two years ago. Creating turnovers to get quick scores on defense or short field for offense. He knows the talent and experience will be better this year but he's trying to save his job, too. bottom line, if the overall D is not in the top 40-50 this year, then he should just leave at the end of the season. Really no excuse to not be top 30 in D,IMO!!

I have been hearing about those rumblings for probably two months, and nothing has happened.

Good for Ray Ray, I hope he becomes a great representative for The U in the NFL. At least better than when he played for Miami.
