Searels can recruit man there was a point in time when people thought the man was not supposed to be on the coaching staff he's out doing himself build that online baby

Doesn't he have a good resume? Why was he doubted? Seemed like a respected veteran.

The state of Texas has given Miami some great Hurricanes, and I'm so happy for Colbert to be having this kind of impact on the program. A passionate guy who was made to be a Cane. He's a prime example of how the pretty boy CFB programs in the state have consistently wasted talented kids.

Yup i agree brotha on that one...

Ive been starting to wonder if Texas football has fallen victim of being over hyped (whether its a combination of exposure or being so well coached/clinics money wise that alot of them tap out potential earlier) or like you said "pretty boy" programs that just dont let that "dog" come out in them

Swag can much more effectively explain, but my $0.02...

Houston/DFW kids in the 80s/90s used to be known as tough nosed city ballers very similar to kids from LC/Overtown. The change began when the texas big city programs eventually starting losing the kids to the private suburb schools (think American Heritage taking in kids from Broward optimist).

Love Colbert.

I believe he is being groomed for a job on this staff when he's done playing.

His resume is full of stops at major programs but his results have been hot and cold. He had some mediocre/poor offensive lines at VT and Texas prior to that. Last years' offensive line play left a lot to be desired too. Jury is still out.

This. Jury is definitely still out.

Towards the end of the season the oline found its groove. Once they found out the perfect combo, they played well enough.

They did improve once they put together the right lineup. I'm keeping this in my "glass half full" file.

I never thought the talent was the issue. It was just a matter of putting guys in the right spot. Darling to G, KC to T, Gauthier at C. I think it can be a strong unit this year.

Right which makes you question Searles talent evaluation

Finding the correct combination was largely on Searles but the better play calling, for the OL talent we had available, helped as the year wore on.
The WVU game is a microcosm for this. Early on we tried to be a power/play action team and they couldn't hold the point of attack. We then spread the D out and simplify the assignments and we look like the Pats for 4 straight drives to put the game away.
Searles has some more proving to do but at least indications were trending in the right direction as last year ended.

As always, Good stuff... Pete

My biggest concern is the QB situation.
What's your take?... Who do you believe has the best chance to steel the ball away from Rosier.
Jack A
Cade W
Evan S
Tucker B
an even late arrival N Perry

A Adrian
B Be
C Closing

Adrian can have a cup of coffee.

He definitely likes his steaks medium rare

Not well done with ketchup?
