Stud but not Miami good? Can you get him to elaborate on that?

Probably meaning that most HS qbs don't go play college football let alone D1. So for HS standards you are stud if you go play D1 football, but that doesn't make you BCS caliber.

Heard back from my friend about Baylor's QB Tiano. He said, "He's a stud, we played against him in a scrimmage, and were impressed, strong arm, but I didn't think he was Miami good." So take that FWIW.

Has he seen our QBs of the last 12 years?

He played I-AA and he's a DC for a public school in North GA outside of Chattanooga so while I trust his eye for talent, I also trust our coaches, so I'm just passing along what he said.

He plays for a school that produces 1-2 D-I prospects a year. They usually compete for a state title, but at a lower level. He thinks he'll be a solid D-I QB, but isn't sure if he'll be a star. He thinks he'd be a solid starter at a school like Vandy or Purdue, but not a major ACC or SEC school. He's hearing the kid likes West Virginia a lot FWIW.

Let's put it this way. This is Chattanooga we're talking about, not South Florida. Metro area has 600,000 people in it. My friend was the Times-Free Press' player of the year in HS at the same HS this kid goes to, and he went to a I-AA school.

Canes will never recruit a football player that goes to Champagnat HS again as long as Genron the pomp is around.
