Golden losing everybody to FSU.

They won an NC. Plus most of these kids are gator commits. noles are actually raping them. We are just missing out on the plunder from the gator shipweck. Al did steal noles first choice are RB, Yearby. They are having a heck of a class, but they have a lot of players taking off this year too. Still, would have been nice to grab JC. He is great finish to secondary coming in. Getting TV back would be 10 times bigger.

Pete didn't say he was coming back. He said its possible but suggested that it would be an uphill climb and that at least in part, kid was using Golden as an excuse. It's not at all clear he is coming back. That would be a terrible blow if they can't reel him in, it would cast a pall on signing day no matter what else happened just like 6 last year.

That's the problem--perception. Last year, that guy was committed to FSU for more than a month before signing day. He played the game and people bought in, so it seemed like a signing day loss. It wasn't. That's not to say that there aren't losses at the end. But it is to say that some of that needs to be kept in perspective too.

Pete,

Do you know anything about Heurtelou or Wyche getting into school? Is it a realistic possibility we end up with only Jenkins and Moten?

I don't think Wyche will make it. Don't know on Heurtelou. Doubt there will be only 2 DTs in the class though. They will get someone else.

Wow... What DTs will we look at?

Going through our offer list these all seem like the options not locked up...
6'1" 290lb Cerenord (Competition Wake Forest)
6'5" 280lb Thompson (Competition UCinn commit)

Also heard anything about the FSU commits? They both have size (which we need) and were picked up by Odell a guy I trust at finding elite DTs. I heard from my FSU friend that they wanted to grey shirt one of them because of space issues. Any chance at offering him a full ride to make him reconsider. (can't remember which one out of these two)
6'4" 270lb Torres
6'4" 280lb Williams

I believe the FSU recruit you're talking about grey shirting is Arthur Willams. I only think this because FSU fans weren't that high on him. Also the whole "I trust Odell can find Elite DT's" thing is kinda dumb. Is he good at recruiting Elite DT's? **** yeah. But you don't really "find" a 5-Star tackle.

Depending on who FSU brings in over the next month

DT - Weildman - Grades/ Flip to USC

DT/OL - Williams - USC pushing hard for him

DT - Torres - may get pushed out

Doesn't matter dude, they are getting merked in the 4th quarter of recruiting AGAIN. Yeah we got a solid base but you got to add to it. You can't fail to land even a SINGLE guy out of: Cook, Lane, Rudolph, Jackson, Valentine, Griffin. That's straight up ****.

Griffin appears to be grades, staff can't be blamed for that one. The others, agree. You would think we close on at least one. Cook and Lane seemed like the least likely as with Yearby, Powell, and Duke, would it make sense for a back to come in with that or go to FSU where Freeman and Philips will be gone sooner?

PT had what is on the roster also plays into it, so Cook not coming has that angle, and Lane's reach around on Cook level is epic. Never seen anything like it.

I think one name that should be added to the miss list is Sony also.

I actually think our RB depth is worse than FSU's. Even if Freeman and Wilder go pro. K Williams. M.Pender and R. Green are already there. Every school in the country wanted all three of those guys. Duke and Yearby r the only 2 backs we have that fit into that category. Powell is a great back but his offer sheet doesn't look like those other 5 guys sheets do/did.

Cook wants a RB by committee style offense. He saw Duke get run into ground when Duke is a guy that should be a electrifying complement
type back. He is pretty similar in that aspect. He said himself he wants to save his body for NFL so he gets paid.

If cook was here we would have a committee of him duke yearby Gus and Powell. Isn't that big enough for him??

Seems to me that Cook was running from Yearby. I never thought that guy would sign where Yearby did. FSU came into the picture for him when Yearby bounced to us and Florida's season fell apart.

“I think it’s going to look very similar to who you’re seeing right now,” Fisher said. “I think there may be one or two [players] I’ve got to have serious conversations with, but … this is an extremely young football team.”

Despite a roster oozing with NFL talent and the draft looming this spring, Fisher didn’t seem the slightest bit concerned about the possibility of losing many players early. He said there are only three seniors on offense and “maybe one” player who might leave early. He said “maybe three guys max” on defense might leave.

“Those guys are having a good time here, and we have some great young players coming in behind those guys,” he said. “So I think this team will look very, very similar to the one you just saw.”

Yep, as long as Winston is there. That guy is a program-defining player. FSU has plenty of talent everywhere, for sure. But Auburn handles FSU if there is anyone else under center. It almost handled it, even with Winston there.

and people are whining when we got the starting RB of the two. cook might be more electric but yearby was the main guy at central.

I understand the complaints. You'd like to think that UM would get a guy like Cook no matter what. I don't think it was in the cards because we got the other guy and, right now, UM is just not what it was for local kids. The staff has some real work to do there.

I think we'd see less complaining about Cook if he was headed anywhere but FSU. Same goes for Lane, if he ends up at FSU, as expected.

this . People on here saying we've had guys locked up all season...but notice that the highest rated guys usually announce at the all American games or national signing day...and it looks like we will whiff . Again.

Golden losing everybody to FSU.

Losing? When was JC Jackson committed to us? He's a UF commit, technically speaking, UF would be "losing" him to FSU, the team that just happened to win the MNC. I mean you guys act like we are trying to fight off USF or FIU here. FSU just won the MNC. Its pretty **** tough recruiting against that. Lets also not kid ourselves, its not like CB is that thin for us that its a lock that he can walk in here and play.

Guys need to be realistic. Look, I would love to have this kid, and hope maybe we can sway him, but lets not go overboard. All this "he was ours", "Cane Lock" stuff is bullsh*t and always was. There is NO SUCH THING as a "Lock" unless the LOI is in. He also never formally committed here, so at most, he was leaning towards us for a bit after his visit. That is nothing new.

Lets not turn this into another excuse to have a f*cking meltdown and sh*t all over everything again. 3 weeks in recruiting is a LIFETIME, and the last 3 weeks, all kinds of crazy sh*t happens.

Griffin has nothing to do with recruiting, the kid cant pass the **** ACT. Nothing any coach can do about that.
Valentine is not officially gone anywhere either yet. But that situation is very $ticky IMO, and goes beyond "recruiting".

Lets not pile on bullsh*t here unnecessarily just to make a point. Yes we have lost some battles, to the team that just won the MNC. But lets not go overboard blaming being "out recruited" for some things that have nothing to do with that.

Amazing isnt it? Cook committed to Clemson, and later UF. Not ONCE did the kid ever indicate in the SLIGHEST that we were his leader, or that he was likely to come here, but "we lost him". Lane has had ZERO interest in MIami for most of the process. In fact, the kid seemed down right HATEFUL of UM. And people say "we lost him".

Y'all can ***** all you want, but the reality is the game is won and lost in the middle of the field and at QB, and that is where this class is strong.

Would have been nice to add more but this isn't even close to the disaster it is being made out to be.
