Besides the $5+ million for the best head coaches....

This is where the REAL money is spent-- on the coordinators....

The HC is the CEO of the team-- but the coaches who actually make the difference in whether players are developed, know the game plan, and can execute are the Assistants and Coordinators.

IF you start here and open the checkbook-- the recruits will come naturally.....

Recruits and their families look at it this way: "If a school is willing to spend big money on facilities and coaches, that's where I want to take my 4/5 star talent".....

Miami will never be relevant again until it steps up to spending SEC kind of money:

It's not just spending money. Miami spent for Enos and here we are.

No joke. Does this make Enos the highest paid OC at 1.5m?

The HC is the key to everything. We dont have one. Fix that problem first.

A top HC, with a top DC, with a top OC - do not "COST" a university - a single penny.

They win, and like a top salesman - they bring in lots more revenue than their salaries - and provide a net gain well above what they receive.

How do companies manage to pay top sales folks millions per year? Because they make their own salaries, and lots more above that - for the company. More revenue from multiple sources - more students - it's self-sustaining.

Half-assing around like we've done since Butch - is financially - irresponsible. Detrimental.

Wise decisions create additional net wealth, increased public reputation, and really touts the UM brand. What would be called "intangible assets."

If UM is being discussed - and watched - on Saturdays in September, October, November, December, and January - that's publicity worth untold millions of dollars - that the University couldn't possibly BUY!

I'm just glad as **** I didn't get my Accounting/Finance degree from UM - because UM doesn't understand the most basic elements of Finance.

Nice try kid....but you clearly don't know **** about business....

FIRST you put down money investment....THEN you hope the investment pays you back a profit or at least break even..

So YES THERE IS A COST right UP FRONT....

That's the cost The U BOT refuses to pay as they watch Bama, Clemson, OSU raking in hundreds of MILLIONS $$ in profit from their investments....

But first comes the invested cost....money out of the bank account....

Yes your exactly right we are paying Enos 1.5m so the money is being spent, I guess OP didn't know. Now we just need to spend it on the right OC.

Go look at the rest of staff salaries--- add them up and then compare to the teams on that table above...

Then come back and tell us what the totals are....

Those teams are spending DOUBLE TO TRIPLE what Miami spends...

So NO the money is not there....

The BOT has invested in their coaches. The problem is they’ve invested in the wrong coaches.

As long as the SEC can pay recruits with impugnity while the NCAA lies in wait for Miami to sneeze wrong so they drop the death penalty on us we could have Saban at the helm, Urban as OC and Swinney as DC this thing ain't gon change. That is unless the bags are mitigated by the best talent evaluator and developer. But y'all don't want him here.

Richt was getting $4 mill 4 years ago... the money is and has been there

Bama, Clemson are nearly $6million for their HC's....... it's not even close.

$4million is what you spend on an "up and coming" young prospect that you hope becomes a Dabo one day....

So that is what Blake Jame's bet was last year when he chose Manny.... it's a bet....

Manny then turned around and "bet" on Enos.....

So far the OC bet has failed....

The HC bet will take at least 3-5 years to reveal itself....

I've watch football long enough to know that top level leadership takes time to establish...

Guys that come into program and win immediately are usually already blessed with great players, solid university support (salaries & facilities), and already top notch support staff. Go look at all the "HC bets" in ALL of CFB and you'll see that it's less than 10% that a new HC wins big in his very first year at the school....

Nice try, Shiffer Brains. The "investment" has already been made - the decision to field a football team is already made - so it's not a matter of deciding to "invest." That's been done - and we're in.

****, we're not proposing a snow ski and snowshoe specialty business in the 305 - we're already playing college football. Got uniforms, cleats, even got real helmets and towels!

Considering what's already been "invested," and other current assets - ie: practice facilities, weight rooms, training table, Indoor Practice Facility - etc., it's not a big jump to increase the funding to further additional production.

Fixed costs are pretty much covered - and what we're really looking at is increasing our variable costs just a bit - sufficient to increase our production.

Those variable costs increases - will more than pay for themselves -

Get it?

So you can take your Intermediate Accounting 101 approach - and just sit down.

We're way past that - except for YOU and the UM BOT/ADMIN.

Academia can teach crap - but can't understand how it applies in the real world.

Tell me about the Coastal. I want to know which coordinator made as much as Enos.

Which coordinators in the Coastal make more than $1MM?
