The UNC game is going to be tougher than they appeared pre-season

If a UNC team that squeaked by a terrible USCe lead by Corch Will himself makes you dribble down your leg a bit than you might as well root for Wake Forest. We've had issues in Chapel Hill in the past but this game will be different. You don't think Manny will he a little motivated by this game?

Miami is 8-7 against Tar Heels since joining ACC.

If Miami doesn’t win by 14 or more... not only will it be a travesty, but It will also be very telling of what type of season we will have. UNC played well against USC indeed, but I just don’t see them having that much success against us like that. My prediction... Miami 34 - UNC 13.

Prepare for disappointment.

Hide sharp object.

Assuming we had physical practices in the bye week, we win just off of Manny being fired by Mack and UNC having problems getting off their high horse after beating SCar.

UNC winning and the stadium being crowded will only get our guys ready as opposed to 2yrs ago with an empty stadium and dead environment up there

They really looked a lot more together and inspired than I thought they would. They've got a really good frosh QB, a surprisingly stingy D and enough playmakers to score. Until today, I truly thought this game was going to be a blowout for us, but playing at their stadium, and playing the physical brand of football that they showed today, I really think this is going to be a hard fought game.

I've gone from my 30 point Cane blowout prediction to: Canes 30 vs UNC 23

Let's just get the W by hook or by crook and use the following month of non-conference games to get ready for the ACC gambit. This season's schedule is already feeling like it'll be more difficult and competitive than it did on paper during the offseason.

Thoughts?

Let me say this to you and others, i've seen people saying things like "the gaytors defense, (particularly their d-line) will be the toughest we face all year", and that's comical, we still gotta face UVA, maybe pitt and if boston college is on the schedule, those type teams carry grown men on their d-lines, with the gaytors, they'll be the fastest and most aggresive d-line, but when we talking physical, if we play the 3 teams mentioned above, plus Carolina got athlete's too now, the ACC/coastal division not gone be no cake walk no matter how we competed with the gaytors, we got to bring it every week, coach enos better wisen upon the offensive personnel he going with against the more overall physical d-lines in the ACC. I hope nelson and campbell not listening to that non-sense about the gaytors being the toughest d-line/defense we'll see all year, that's comical, and is not logical football sense.

Anybody that think Unc is going to be a cakewalk, just remember, we not getting older at tackle just yet, so itll be on coach enos to put down whatever the **** he was smoking last weekend, so he can start making the proper adjustments, that **** was calling plays and waisting plays like last saturday was a scrimmage or something!

We win big, they won't score on our d like you think.

We play Pitt every year so that’s not a question and we will not play BC this year unless you think the physical D-Line they have will get them past Clemson and we win the coastal. You also can’t say our o-line isn’t getting older yet when they are literally getting older at every tick of the clock, they have had more practices since the gator start more game reps since the last game rep. How do you think players grow up and mature? You think it just happens at the conclusion of one season and the beginning of the next. I’m not saying they will be all world but they are obviously learning and going to be better then the last time they played.

That’s because you and the majority of this board are completely out in left field when it comes to football. The canes can lose to anyone. Thanks for removing your green and orange glssses.

It was blitzes. Donaldson didn't allow 1 pressure in the game. Just watch tennis or some shît.

It's ok if you don't have the skill set to break down performances.

Therenis a ton of really smart and passionate people on here to help you.

Lizards D isn't the world beater some on here claim it is.

Better than some in ACC for sure, but not THAT much better.

It's a matter of fractions between Top 25 and Top 50 defense metrics.

Same can be said Top 50 to Top 75.

I didn’t see anything from their offense that was disconcerting.

True Freshman QB who has some potential, but he was definitely putting the ball in harm’s way. Should’ve had an INT late in the game, but the ball went through the DB’s hands.

RBs are okay and Newsome is decent at receiver, but no gamebreakers that are going to go off for 200 yards or something. They don’t have any skill position talent that we didn’t see against Florida.

The one concern is what Bateman has done with the defense. Brantley looked completely confused as a senior, and UNC’s DL mostly controlled the LOS.

After what we saw against Florida, I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if our OL struggled again, particularly in another night road game.

We need to be able to run the ball so Jarren doesn’t have to throw against a lot of exotic looks.

That said, UNC’s back 7 talent isn’t impressive. They had a converted QB playing LB, and he missed a run fit that led to a long TD run.

If we take care of business, we should win by 2 TDs.

I don't think the UNC game is a "gimme" game but I do think the fact UNC WON yesterday might work in our favor. I think Manny will have the team fired up and ready to play. They know they left a lot on the field last week against UF - especially Jarren. I expect he will be ready to go. The win by UNC should ensure our guys don't take this game for granted given last year's result.

I hope we win the coin toss so the defense gets on the field first. Having a little momentum from a strong defensive stand in UNC's first possession would be huge....

It's not going to be easy but I think we can get it done. Going to have to lean on the defense as usual.
