The UNC game is going to be HUGE in determining the rest of the season

Jesus. You people are worried about the likes of UNC after we just had a WAR against a top ten team. Eff UF and all they stand for but give the team credit. You tell me 10 sacks before the game I say we're losing by 20+

10 sacks and they also gave us the ball 3 times with silly unforced turnovers that kind of landed in our lap. They got called for PI on 4th and 34 with the game on the line.

We could have just as easily lost by 20 considering how poorly we played, but the game was kept close by each team taking turns throwing up all over themselves. In the end, it came down to who wanted it less.

If reports come out that Franks has a broken leg, it will confirm my suspicion that bookies tried to get him to throw the game, but Miami was so inept that we refused to let him lose. Rarely have I seen a team shoot itself in the foot as much as Miami did on Sat evening.

Bruh, that was no top 10 team we played last night. They probably finish season ranked #20, at best.
And you missed my point then entirely. I'm not on here trying to tout the gator by any means. But we won't be facing anywhere near the caliber of players we faced on Saturday when we play UNC, no matter what UF's final ranking is. We should unquestionably beat UNC, regardless of our track record in recent years. The fact some of our fan base is in meltdown mode after this weekend is ridiculous.

Enos has the most to prove. I was ****ed that he was the OC hire and I'm now even more ****ed after what I saw against the gaytor. Garbage 2nd half. Grantham adjusted and flat out bullied him. I saw absolutely no adjustments from him. Too stubborn and kept having Jarren under center. Does he think we have Bama's Oline??

Adding a few
- Will we tackle better?
- Will Shaq and Pickney bounce back from subpar performances?
- Will our offense look more organized and play with better pace?
- Will Baxa stop missing chip shots?
- Do we stick with JT as a return man?
- What kind of impact can Bubba Bolden give to the defense?
- Do we start mixing in more Trevon Hill?
- Do Pope and Hightower see more snaps?
- Does Mallory finally start living up to the hype?

I can’t call that a subpar performance from Shaq and pickney they are what we’ve seen from them for 3 full years. They don’t have speed to cover the deep middle field in today’s game.

Wait, there are people on here who legitimately think we won't beat UNC?!? Jesus christ. We played a top 10 team last night.

2018/09/27 Miami FL 47 - North Carolina 10 W
2017/10/28 Miami FL 24 - North Carolina 19 W
2016/10/15 Miami FL 13 - North Carolina 20 L
2015/11/14 Miami FL 21 - North Carolina 59 L

The last four years scores and the 2017 game we could had easily lost it in their backyard! So, yes if we do not get our sh*t together we can definitely lose this game. Florida in no way, shape or form is a top ten team! overrated because the won their last four games vs ****** teams FSU, idaho, south carolina and a defensively depleted michigan

Outside of Bethune, I expect every game to be a struggle for this team. Our OL is a disaster, it will severely limit the effectiveness of this offense.

This unc team lacks talent and is starting a true freshmen at qb.

Outside of UFs DEs, do you honestly think they looked like a top 10 team?

if we come out focused and prepared with a good game plan no reason we shouldnt win by 20+. Will be interesting to see how the team bounces back. going to learn a lot about TNM from this game I think.

Last, i saw we have a redshirt freshman qb (good one thou), redshirt RT and a true freshman LT. a team dont have to have a great talent to beat us in any given night if we do not clean our **** like multiple false start, stupid chopped block in a passing play and taunting calls.

Probably right.

Truth is I'm just salty that Diaz didn't take the opportunity to move Miami to a spread offense and I don't like Enos. Didnt like the hire at the time (I could barely put on my orange and green glasses and convince myself he deserved a chance). I'm sick and god**** tired of Miami trying to be Alabama Jr and play SEC style football. Diaz embraced speed on defense, for the love of God why did he decide to pair that with a slow playaction pro style offense? On Earth 616 in an alternate universe, Diaz decided to go fast on both sides of ball and hired Bill Bedenbaugh from Oklahoma. Miami drops 55 on UF, then goes on an undefeated run to all the way to the ACC championship.
I'm not ready to pounce on Enos' offense just yet, but I do agree that Manny missed a big time opportunity to move our offense into the 21st century. It's kind of crazy that someone as forward thinking as him would go for a traditional guy like Enos.

Who are unc weapons on offense? I expect to see this defense dominate them. And i think the offense will have a easier time vs their defense.

I don't disagree with you at all. my point is we cannot fall asleep on then and simply expect a win because is NC if we do not clean up stupid mental mistakes

This is a crutial game. Win and we have a few cupcakes to work out the kinks with confidence before the tougher conference foes. Lose and some fatigue might start to set in (plus an Acc loss). No one can underestimate the importance of week 2 for us.

Although some of the naysayers on here may hate this, but I do assume we'll win this game, so IMO the game is huge not from a W or L perspective, but from a coaching perspective. The UNC game will show us what kind of coaches we have. The players are talented and have bought in. These questions will need to be answered in a satisfactory way or we may indeed be in for another disappointing coaching regime:
  • Will our OL provide sufficient protection for Jarren to fully and effectively operate our offense?
  • Will we get at least 4 sacks?
  • Will our ST's look more disciplined and play with more accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Will JT and Mallory get more involved?
  • If we are going to experiment with Martell, then will we see that done effectively?
  • Will we see DJ operate out of the wildcat at least 5 times this game?
  • Will we see the TE's used more regularly?
  • Will Lingard get some burn?
  • Will Cam Davis get more burn?
  • Will we have 8 or fewer penalties?

All games are huge.

All games are huge.
I respectfully disagree. Bethune Cookman is not huge, etc. There are some games that are bigger than others. The UNC game is a window into whether or not we are resurging as a program long term.
