Although some of the naysayers on here may hate this, but I do assume we'll win this game, so IMO the game is huge not from a W or L perspective, but from a coaching perspective. The UNC game will show us what kind of coaches we have. The players are talented and have bought in. These questions will need to be answered in a satisfactory way or we may indeed be in for another disappointing coaching regime:
  • Will our OL provide sufficient protection for Jarren to fully and effectively operate our offense?
  • Will we get at least 4 sacks?
  • Will our ST's look more disciplined and play with more accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Will JT and Mallory get more involved?
  • If we are going to experiment with Martell, then will we see that done effectively?
  • Will we see DJ operate out of the wildcat at least 5 times this game?
  • Will we see the TE's used more regularly?
  • Will Lingard get some burn?
  • Will Cam Davis get more burn?
  • Will we have 8 or fewer penalties?

Wait, there are people on here who legitimately think we won't beat UNC?!? Jesus christ. We played a top 10 team last night.
Sure we should beat them. But last year we lost to Duke. Who would have thought. Now we're playing another basketball school. This is a team that can't afford to take anyone for granted.

This isn't the 01 Canes any more that can just confidently walk onto the field and win. They haven't earned the scalps on their belt yet.

Just win.

Winning road conference games is not something this group has much experience with. After UNC we won't play another conference opponent for a month with a bye week sprinkled in. That's the period when we can focus on wholesale improvements but to assume anything with regard to this game coming up is risky. These are the types of games we've dropped during every season since we joined the ACC yet we remain completely confident that we'll show up and win because we're Miami. This is an insane asylum lol

Thank God for that easy stretch! If Diaz is the coach that I think he is, we will be a completely different team in all the right ways after that month when we resume conference play.

That's almost like having another training camp. Prep for CMU should be slightly more serious than BCU but it's 3 weeks of not having to worry about whether we'll win on Saturday.

I just can't in good conscience take that same approach with UNC considering it's a night game on the road and we're not exactly a well-oiled machine right now. Maybe UNC sucks worse than ever but there's an element of mystery to them as of now.

This team will struggle on the road all year long. It comes with having such a young offense -- especially in all the critical positions. OP has nailed it, the UNC game will tell us A LOT about our coaching staff and how the offense is progressing. It's an absolutely massive game.

UNC will be a tough one but I think we’ll get out of there with a W (and plenty of people here *****ing that we didn’t dominate them).

They’ll be coming off a loss in their opener as well and will be motivated to play at home at night.

Adding a few
- Will we tackle better?
- Will Shaq and Pickney bounce back from subpar performances?
- Will our offense look more organized and play with better pace?
- Will Baxa stop missing chip shots?
- Do we stick with JT as a return man?
- What kind of impact can Bubba Bolden give to the defense?
- Do we start mixing in more Trevon Hill?
- Do Pope and Hightower see more snaps?
- Does Mallory finally start living up to the hype?

We are going to beat them badly

Bruh, that was no top 10 team we played last night. They probably finish season ranked #20, at best.
Even if that's true, UNC will not be the #20 team and would get shanked in the prison yard by the team we played last night.

Probably right.

Truth is I'm just salty that Diaz didn't take the opportunity to move Miami to a spread offense and I don't like Enos. Didnt like the hire at the time (I could barely put on my orange and green glasses and convince myself he deserved a chance). I'm sick and god**** tired of Miami trying to be Alabama Jr and play SEC style football. Diaz embraced speed on defense, for the love of God why did he decide to pair that with a slow playaction pro style offense? On Earth 616 in an alternate universe, Diaz decided to go fast on both sides of ball and hired Bill Bedenbaugh from Oklahoma. Miami drops 55 on UF, then goes on an undefeated run to all the way to the ACC championship.
