I’m old man and tons of my fellow old farts tell me “these are the best years of my life”. I always answer, “man, your youth must have sucked”. Nothing wrong with remembering the glory days that everyone else still fears.
 
We must always remember the past while striving to forge a new legacy in the future. We should collectively ensure as fans, donors, former players and coaches that the standard of excellence set in the past is upheld in the future. The accomplishments of the past were special. It was a privilege to watch & enjoy that. We should never accept mediocrity for Canes football and there is absolutely nothing wrong with looking to the greats of the past as a standard to attain in the future.
